Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Pond Walkway

Took this picture Monday on the way to LaVale.

🌼    🌼

32 degrees when I went walking this morning.
Mostly cloudy but did see the sun on the last mile walking.

Walked around both cemeteries, the ball park, and all around town.

No people walking around but there were two
people fishing at the pond.

There is a man in town who is confined to a wheel chair and
wanted to bring his son fishing.
He brought up at the town meeting that there was no way
for him to get to the pond.
It was decided to put a concrete path leading to the pond
for a wheelchair.

Here is the result.
Notice the bottom picture of the geese checking out the walkway.
Not quite finished yet.
It needs some backfill and a fence of some sort at the end.

🙂    🎣    🌤

A nice day around the house.
Got a little work done.
Read, knitted, and got some weave-its sewn together.

It was a good day and for that I am Thankful.
A happy day to you.

Vee - It was fun but don't think I'll be doing the duck thing.
MsBB - Only Jeeps get ducked - don't know why it says SUV on the card.

That's a nice, responsive town to put in a pathway for the gentleman to use. I love the ducks using it, too. So cute!

Ducks like the new walk. I like the way it’s curved a little.

So was it the town council that decided this? What a wonderful and quick response!! You must have froze on this walk!

Beautiful blue sky with a few fluffy white clouds!
It's sure good to hear that the path got made so the fellow in a wheelchair could take his son fishing. I think it's a rare thing for a town council to be so accommodating.

What a great thing for the town to do. This is so thoughtful. I would love to live in a small friendly town like this.

You live in a nice town that will put in a walk-way so that man in a wheelchair can take his son fishing at the pond. Hope you have a good Thursday. :-)

Very pretty pictures.
I love that your community got right on the request for a wheelchair access point to the pond!
We have a community pond as well, and there is a nice pathway around it, and nice benches, but I can't recall if there is wheelchair access.
That is something I need to check out.

I'm so glad that you had a nice day.
It feels so good to have warmer weather and motivates me to get projects done.

How lovely! That the town put this walkway in, for him!!!! That is one of the nicest things I have read "In a dog's age"!!!!

Congratulations to them!

What a thoughtful thing to do, to put in a special path for those in a wheelcahir.

It is beginning to look like spring over there.
I love the way your town responded to the man's request. After watching my sister navigate life in a wheelchair, I have a new appreciation for how limiting it can be.
