Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Robin

25 degrees this morning, mostly sunny, and and no wind.
Nice walking weather.

Noticed the geese are back around the little pond in town.
They are across the pond so you might not be
able to see them unless you enlarge the picture.

Walked around both cemeteries, the ball park, and all around town up
and down all the side roads.

Up by the cemetery I saw two raccoons running across the field.
The sun was just coming up so I guess they were hurrying to get
back home.  They are nocturnal and I know to stay away
from them if they are out in the day.

This morning was the first time heard the morning birds chirping.
Not a very good picture but it is of the first Robin I've seen.
A sure sign that spring is not far behind.

Saw on older man out walking who I've never seen before.

Walked 6 miles

Another Monday that I could put the sheets out on the line to dry.

We went to the dump and then on to church.
The cutter is broken that we use for Fingerprints and Ken
is trying to fix it.
This was his second attempt.
He's got one other thing to try before he gives up.

Had a couple of errands to and then it was back home again.

That's it for today.
A happy Monday to you. ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks for visiting.

The grass looks like it is greening up and the pond is not frozen anymore. You're getting there! The robins were there to encourage you...

We saw robins about a week ago, maybe 8-10 days ago. But then I seen them in Indianapolis at Christmas when Sarah and Jeremy first lived there. And have seen them out other places near here a few times. And I have seen several killdeer and a red winged blackbird.

It would have been a good day to hang out sheets here today, too. Tomorrow and Wed is supposed to be in the 60's.

Fun critter sightings! A robin already. I'll need to keep an eye out. We warmed up a bit today and it's been raining so things are a slushy mess!

I’ve been seeing robins. Wish I could walk 6 miles. I’m pitiful. I love all birds.

I hope Ken can get the cutter fixed. That cutter sure does a lot of cutting with all of the Fingerprint Books your church makes! Our weather has warmed up somewhat today, after a cold weekend. Spring is just around the corner. See you again tomorrow. :-)

What kind of fingerprints are you talking about? What a cool photo of the first robin of the year! I used to mark the date on the calendar. You have a lovely place to walk!

Hope his attempt to fix the cutter works (third time is a charm).
A robin?!! Awesome. Sure sign of warmer weather up "North". And I love seeing the pond with no ice!!!

Good to see the worst of Winter with the snow disappearing. We are having a lot of Rain- it has rained for over a week with few breaks...bad floods to the North of the State. Stay well there. Cheers. KEV.

A robin sighting is always so hopeful. If anyone can fix the cutter it's Ken. Your days are always busy and productive. ๐Ÿงบ

The pond still looks frozen and cold, but glad you had some sunshine. We did as well yesterday, not today though. I do some signs of spring, little green things poking their heads up in some of the gardens. Come on Spring. No time for walking today, some family stuff to tend to; so congrats on your mileage.
