Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Phase 10

This sunrise picture is from yesterday mornings walk
which was nice and sunny.

This mornings walk was a different story.
It rained the whole time I was out walking and it was 50 degrees.

Lots of pollen was around.  The puddles were edged in it.

Walked around the cemeteries a few times, down to visit the
bulls and around the ball park.

Stopped at the post office to mail off another Bible lesson that I finished.

My rain pants and slicker work great for three miles of rain then
water starts to run off my face and down my neck no matter what I do.
If it isn't cold out like today I just don't worry about it.
I'd rather get a little wet than not walk at all. πŸ™‚

Not surprised no one else was out walking.

Walked my usual 6 miles

🌧    ☔️    🌨

We went to the Shop and Save today instead of tomorrow
because I needed to get some broccoli and cream for supper tonight.

My new bread machine came in the mail already.
Was going to make Dill Bread to go with the soup but could
not find my recipe.  I thought it was a recipe that was in the
book that came with my old bread machine and looked through the book
a few times and just could not find it.
Went on line and found another Dill Bread recipe and made that.
I'm glad I couldn't find the old recipe because this was better.
I could have eaten the whole loaf myself.

Cleaned out the refrigerator this afternoon.
It wasn't that bad so got it done pretty quickly.

David and Liz came over for supper.
The Dill bread was a big hit as well as the soup.
After we ate we had one of our game nights which is always fun.
This time we learned a new game called Phase 10 which came
in the same box as Uno.
We all thought Phase 10 was a fun game and look forward
to playing it again.
It is kind of like rummy.

That's it for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your day was a happy one.

This Eva comment or is almost like spam!? I had "her" stop by ...and I deleted it. I've seen her around other blogs too, with "form" comments. (Copy & pasted)

Love your rainy day walk. And your dinner sounds great...the game sounds fun (I like Uno AND Rummy).

I was totally confused with the comment made by Eva, and thought I had missed something. Had no idea that someone could spam a blog, but guess they can spam anything on the internet???? Glad Hootin' Anni made the comment to help me out on that one. Love the picture of the garden with the fence around it. That would make a great puzzle. Really enjoy all your pictures.

Hello,

The sunrise shot is beautiful. I see the pollen on our car, it looks awful.
The broccoli cheese soup and bread sound delicious. Have a great day and a happy week ahead.

...what a gorgeous start to the day. It's wonderful to see things coming to life, but I can do without all of the pollen.

Glad you got your walk in even with the rain. The soup and fresh bread sound perfect after your rainy walk. Glad you had a fun game night too. :)

Dill bread and soup sounds delicious! Perfect for a rainy day. We had scattered thunder storms with sunshine in between.
Today looks much the same.

Hi Karen- Glad you have your Son and Partner for dinner and games night- the Soup and Bread sounds very yummy. It is raining here to-day and a cold day- we're rugged up for Winter and it is still Autumn. Have a great day. KEV.

I made broccoli cheese soup last week. It is a family favorite. Game night with David and Liz always sounds like so much fun. So glad they live close now and your can get together often.

That sounds like a yummy dinner and fun game night. I have seen the Phase 10 game, but don't think I have played it before. Would you consider sharing the dill bread recipe (or link)?

Dill bread sounds delicious especially with game night!

Sorry Eva, you must have gotten bad directions, I am way past a dissertation, honey. I always delete those types of comments on instagram especially if they pertain to getting rich quick. Today was a happy one:)

It's a rainy, dreary day here (again) so soup sounds like a good fix for dinner tonight. I love broccoli soup but hubby is not a fan so I'll have to make something different, maybe even some bread. See what you talked me into? I got an Eva message too and just deleted it. I don't have many commenters so I recognize all their names and scrutinize any that aren't familiar to me. We play Phase 10 occasionally. We used to play a lot when my mom was alive, she loved to play. Have a great week!

That first back yard you show, is lovely. The play area is 'contained.' There are trees, and lots of grass, and a place for a garden. Love it.

You are dedicated! To keep walking with rain dripping down, inside! -smile-

Your dinner sounds delicious, as always.

Phase 10 is a fun game. I think it's an easier form of Hand and Foot. Love your sunrise photo and Spring looks beautiful on that drive you walked on. Your dinner sounded real good. I love a good bowl of soup with good fresh bread!

Some people think hot soup is just for winter but we enjoy it all year 'round. Especially with fresh bread.

We used to play Phase 10 and I remember being pretty awful at it. I'd be on phase 3 and everyone else was done. Now it's been so long since we could get together with extended family. Thankfully we can still have our children and grands over.

Ahhh, that beautiful rain. may not be that good to walk in but it sure does help all the new spring growth.
