Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A RAINY walk

57 degrees and raining!!!
Ken is usually still in bed when I leave for my walk but I aways
go and tell him I'm leaving.
This morning when I went to tell him, the rain had just woken
him up and he said to me,
"You're not going to go walking in this are you?"
But of course a little rain wouldn't keep me from walking! 🙂
I say little with a smile because it wasn't just raining,
it was RAINING!
Since there was just a bit of a breeze I took along my
umbrella as well as wearing my rain gear
so had no water dripping down my neck.
It rained so hard my umbrella started leaking.

Walked around town trying to stay out of the water running
down the streets and sidewalks.
Even the bulls were in the barn.
Walked around the cemeteries and the ball park too.

At one point I started laughing at how hard it was raining
and said to myself,
What the heck are you doing out here?
It was kind of fun being out in such a rain.

A few pictures from my rainy walk.

The pine trees down by the Drane house got a bit of a trim.

So that was my rainy walk.
Walked 6 miles

🌧    🌧    🌧

I had the last piece of the Dill Bread toasted for breakfast.
It tastes even better toasted with butter.

It's been over a year now since we've had the
Fingerprints Ministry up and running at our church because of Covid.
Ken and I went to church today to get things set up for
tomorrow when people will come to work on getting the
Romans books put together.
We would love to be there too but we still don't feel
comfortable being in groups yet so will just be setting up
and taking down.  Maybe next month we can join the others.

We used the new Air Fryer this evening for something a bit
more challenging that French fries.
We made Teriyaki Chicken and Broccoli.
(recipe came in book with air fryer)
I thought it turned out great and really liked it,
but Ken not so much though he doesn't like Teriyaki as much as I do.

Spent some reading today. Probably more than I should have.
Only two more days left and haven't really done any house cleaning.

In a little while we will go to church on FB.
Later watch another episode of Monk and have
our snack of ice cream.
I've skipped a few days of ice cream,
having pretzel chips and spinach dip instead.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your Wednesday was a happy one.

Wow, that rain was really coming down. You never let a little rain stop you! Our church will be fully in person in two weeks on May 16. We have been attending on Zoom, although some people, like Josh, go in person. I don't blame you and Ken for being cautious. The virus is still out there. Your dill bread sounds so good. Glad you had a good day.

Haha...even the bulls were in the barn but you were out walking! Glad you had a good hardy laugh. Enjoy your snack!

You are more brave than the bulls! I'm glad you were still able to get your walk in today. That would never happen here because we never have rain that isn't accompanied by thunder and lightning. If it's raining I'm inside to stay!

Those rainy scenes look so good. I can almost smell the freshness of the rain.

Are you sure you didn't swim, at least for part of your walk? It looks so wet...like things are so saturated.

You are dedicated to your walking I will give you that. I'm with Ken, I don't care much for teriyaki either. My husband on the other hand loves it.

It rained all day here. Winds about 65 mph.

God bless.

Hello,

It seems to rain every other day and the winds are blowing.
You are a dedicated walker. The dinner sounds god and ice cream is always a treat.
Have a happy day!

Hi Karen- I like to be indoors when it is raining- it is our third day here of rain- sometimes heavy and it has been cold as well. We're back to Covid Restrictions tomorrow -wearing masks and following other rules- it is for the best of all and has to be done. Stay well there. Best Wishes. KEV.

Only you, Happyone, would thrill to walking six miles in the pouring rain. ☔️

I'm smiling at Vee's comment and agree. Nothing stops Happyone :).

Yeah, that was definitely some rain you were walking in! Yes, I don't feel comfortable being in a large group of people either although I have been outside at a semi-busy farmers market already this year. I just kept my mask on and tried to stay away from people as much as possible!

Very impressive walking in the pouring rain at least it didn't go down your neck this time. :)

How I would love a walk in the rain. It's scary dry here, the abundance of weeds we usually see by now are not showing up. It's also fun to read about your daily life. You truly know how to life a good life.

I'd say it was pretty hard rain if your umbrella started leaking!
Your Dill bread sounds delicious. I didn't find it among your recipes.
Would you consider posting it?
