Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Tuesday

30 degrees and cloudy during this mornings walk with a slight breeze.

Walked around both cemeteries, the ball park, and all over town.
Rebecca was out walking with her dog Leo and I saw them
three different times during our walk.

Walked down to say hi to the bulls and on the way down to them
Farmer Marvin came by in his truck and stopped to say hi.
He told me all but 6 bulls have been sold so soon most of them will
have moved on to new farms.  All the bulls are raised here on the farm.
Farmer Marvin is Rebecca's uncle.

Took this picture from the cemetery on the hill.
That is the Drane house and to the right behind the pine trees
is the barn where the bulls are.
If you expand the picture and look closely you
may be able to see the barn through the trees and the bulls
underneath the trees.

Walked 6 miles

I got home just in time to miss the rain showers we had for the
rest of the morning.  Then out came the sun and we had a sunny afternoon.

I put Italian hot pork sausages in the slow cooker this morning
and then made macaroni salad and so got supper out of the way.

Stayed inside this afternoon.
Gave the deadfall picking up a break.
Did some reading and knitted too.
Working on a tricky knitting project - at least for me.
I'm knitting a wash/dish cloth and it is round!

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your day was a happy one.

It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving,
but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.

Smiles go a long way, indeed! How nice to meet the farmer and hear about the bulls. Glad you made it home before the rains came!

Well, I wondered what Ken and David were working on...but didn't ask. But glad Anni did. Love the quote about a smile...a smile can make such a difference. Can totally change how you look at the day.

That cemetery view is outstanding.

I wondered why one farm would need so many bulls but if they're being raised right there to be sold then it makes sense.

Hello,

It was good you were able to get in your walk before the rain. Dinner sounds yummy.
Love the quote! Take care, enjoy your day!

I love to walk around cemeteries and look at all the headstones and wonder about the people lives that the headstones commemorate. I see some very old headstones in that picture of your cemetery. Do you know how old they are? A shower room in the cabin sounds like a good idea. I hope the project is going well. We had rain here yesterday and more is coming today. See you again soon.

Good to take a break from the picking up. Your back might need, a bit of rest. :-)

A shower room sounds like a massive project. I hope you keep us updated. Love the view of the cemetery from the hill. A round dishcloth...quite unique.
