Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Annie's and the Rolling Pin Bakery

This morning the temperature was 45 degrees when I started walking.
A calm morning and I walked through some low hanging clouds.
That sounds so much nicer than saying I walked through some foggy patches.

A pleasant walk around town again.
Loops around both cemeteries and the ball park too.

Three people out walking dogs.
Saw two rabbits hopping about and many birds chirping and flying about.
By far the most common bird was the Robin.
I get such a kick out of the Killdeers when they run - so funny.
They are like little roadrunners.

The sun was shining with a few clouds around when I got back home
and it stayed like that till suppertime when it rained.

Walked 6 miles
Found a penny

Morning chores done I was going to fry up some chicken breasts
for supper and thought I get it done ahead of time.
Then went on line to see if I could find the Burger King spicy chicken recipe.
Found a recipe that sounded good, easy and it is baked in the oven.
Ken was out in the morning and when he came home lunch time the
chicken smelled so good we didn't wait for supper time but had it for lunch.
We put the chicken on Kaiser rolls, with mayonnaise, lettuce, and a slice of tomato.
It was just as good or better than BK or Wendy's.

Annie's Kitchen Country Restaurant in town opened in 1998.
Sad to say they have now closed.
Nothing fancy but they had good plain food and they will be missed.

Here's a couple of pictures taken a few years ago.

That's me sitting in the BIG chair.

The Rolling Pin Bakery and Deli that is in a small building right at the beginning of town

is doing so well that they need a bigger place and will be moving into
the space where Annie's was.
Now they will be able to have tables inside at the new place
and I'm sure they will do great there.
Wonder what will happen to the old Rolling Pin Building.

This afternoon did a little more knitting.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you.

Miss BB - In winter I just walk longer in the dark. Sometimes I leave the house a little later in winter.  In summer when it is light sometimes I just leave from home and walk to town.

That's a great picture of you in the big chair! I really don't know how you can walk past the bakery every day without stopping in for donuts once in a while.

I love you in that big chair! How fun! Love the fog in the photos too. Enjoy your evening! Time for ice cream? Hugs!

I love you calling the fog low hanging clouds, it really is better! Your chicken sandwiches sound delicious. Do you walk six miles every day? I usually only walk two but there was a day in February that I did six before I knew it while walking on the beach.

I'm sorry to hear about the first place closing down. So many small business have had to close due to Covid. I feel so sorry for them all.
You look so cute sitting in that big chair :)

That chair is big enough to lay down and take a nap on! Really love your morning shots with the low hanging clouds. (Loved what you said about fog vs low hanging clouds.) Or you could have said walked through the rising early morning mist. LOL

That was a warm morning start compared to other recent ones! Fun photo of that huge chair and tiny (you?) in it. Sad about the restaurant but it sounds like a win for the bakery!

I remember that picture of you in the big chair at Annie's. So sad that it closed. So many restaurants have closed this past year. At least the bakery seems to be prospering to move into a bigger place. I Hope you have a good Friday. See you again soon.

Wonderful photos, that colourful sky is a beauty. It's too bad about Annie's, we had a few cafe/restaurants close down too. Hard times for the business people.
