This morning it was 20 degrees when I started walking around town.
Calm and once the sun rose my walk was a sunny one.
One of the cemeteries and the ball park were still snow covered
but the lower cemetery was passable so walked around there.
The road down to the barn by the bulls was clear for walking too
so walked down there and said good morning to the bulls.
Three geese were sitting in the middle of the farm pond behind the
Drane house on the ice and stood up when they spotted me.
Seems like a cold spot to pick to sit.
Walked up and down the main street in town.
Mmmmmm delicious smells coming from the bakery as I passed by.
Didn't see anyone out walking but did wave to people going by
in cars and trucks.
On the drive home I saw 4 deer.
Walked 6.2 miles
☀️ 🦌 🚶♀️
We watched the red/brown cow by the cattle grate walk
back and forth along the edge and then saw her jump right over it.
Ken went out and chased her back in.
She is the ring leader and is always the first one out.
They are planning on putting in a wider grate with the
spaces between the bars wider.
Did laundry and was going to hang it outside on the line
but the day turned cloudy and stayed cold so had to hang them
on the drying rack instead.
Mentioned this before but I put the rack over
a heating vent and the clothes dry pretty fast.
Had the usual day around the house.
Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you.

Miss Cow sounds a character :)
I think a wider grate may well be the answer though.
Happy Weekend Wishes.
All the best Jan
Good idea to put that rack over a heater vent! I'll have to remember that. Those bulls are a handsome bunch. That's funny about the ring leader escape cow! Have a great evening.
...the your image of the three geese! The local cows seem to have to run of neighborhood. Enjoy your weekend and watch out for the ice.
It seems as if Miss Cow has wanderlust. Hope the new grate will keep her home.
The cow seems determined...sounds like a good day in your world. If I come in with a wet jacket or my tennis shoes are wet, I either put them over a heat vent or the cool air return...either one dries things pretty quickly.
What a naughty or adventurous cow! Glad that you were able to walk further than yesterday. Do you think that the tide has turned on
the seasons?
I don't think I could even get all our laundry on a dryer rack. I used dryer racks a lot in Arizona, but we really don't have the extra space upstairs for a dryer rack here so I would have to cart wet laundry downstairs, which is not something I want to do. That cow just wants to get out and come and visit you. She must know how nice you and Ken are. :-) See you again tomorrow.
Hi Happyone, Just went back and looked over your posts for the last several days. Wow, you have sure had a lot of snow to deal with. You and Ken do a great job of keeping your access open. Quick question: Was this the biggest snow event of recent years? As always, your photos are great. Have a good weekend. John
A cow...jumping over the cattle guard. Now, that's another first for me.
Looks a little icy yet. Be careful not to fall.
Seems the snow is clearing.
God bless.
What a bad little cow! Glad you are getting out and walking.
Hello,
Beautiful scenes, love the cattle. That is one determined cow! Take care, enjoy your weekend!
I enjoyed reading about your day. Remember the geese have their own down vests, but I wonder about their feet. They have pretty big, don't they. I chose to not have a dryer and love to hang my clothes on the lines. Here we have a constant wind, so even in the winter the washing dries pretty fast.
Ahhhh, that red/brown cow!!!!!! Jumped over!!!!
Goes to show, once creatures taste freedom, it's hard to put them back, "in their pen."
And lovely to get your usual walk, back in!!!!!!

So the cow is the leader of the pack and she has quite a few followers. :)
So she's the instigator!
Isn't that a clever cow! The pond picture with the geese is very pretty! I wonder how they keep from freezing their butts off when they sit on the ice like that!
