Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Back to town 😃

It was great to drive to town where I could have my normal
morning walk again. 😃
The rain stopped sometime during the night and it was
32 degrees, cloudy and calm when I started walking.

I could walk up to the cemeteries and the ball park but
couldn't walk around them because there is still ice and snow there.

There were plenty of places I could walk though and I was happy
just to be back to town.  Walked around the streets that were clear
and went to the industrial park and walked there too.

Didn't see anyone else out walking and no animals either.
Wanted to go and see the bulls but the road down to the
barn was ice.  Maybe tomorrow I can get down there.

By the time I was getting back to the car, the clouds were just
starting to make way for blue sky and the sun.

Walked 6.2 miles
Found a quarter

☁️    ☀️    💰

Our neighbor cows have been escaping daily now that they got
a taste of getting off the farm so today Farmer Eugene and Aaron
with Ken's help got the cattle grate unclogged.
The grate had to be lifted up and out which Aaron did with
a big loader of some kind and Ken used his tractor to clear
out the ice and snow.
Then the grate was put back in place. No escaping now.
Will miss the cows coming over for a visit,
but I'm sure the younger ones will jump over it a time or two.

Did the usual chores around the house and then had time to read and knit.

We had another beautiful sunny day though it only stayed in the 30's.
Still, with all that sunshine a lot more snow is now gone.

Posting a bit early today.
David and Liz are coming over for a pizza supper with us and then
we are going to play the board game LIFE.
Should be a fun evening.
Such a blessing to have them live so close to us now!!!

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you.

Hooray for getting back outside. It's 71 here today and expected to drop into the 40s tomorrow. I'm finding lots of excuses to get outside today.
Way to spoil the cows fun :) I'm sure they enjoyed it while it lasted.
Pretty good to be able to find a quarter with all that snow.
Enjoy your fun evening.

Ohhhh, the cows are now back in-side! Enough is enough. -smile-

I don't know who your friends are, but it's lovely you can get together with them.

That blue sky is. a welcome sight. It seems that by now , when the sun shines there is melting happening.

When you mentioned that some of the younger cows might jump over the fence, I thought of the nursery rhyme of the cow jumping over the moon! What fun to have company for pizza and games! Yes, it’s nice to have David/Liz near! Great that there was enough clearing for you to walk in town again!

You might have to go over to the farm and pay the cows a visit.

The cows are in for a surprise the next time they come with the intention of a little trip over to your house.

Hooray for your walk in town. That was a neighborly thing to do helping to clear the cattle grate. Sounds like a fun evening with your kids. We were at our kids tonight. I had fun running around with the grands.

I know how long you've waited to get back to town...I'm happy for you.

I learned something...I did not know cattle guards could be lifted & cleaned.
