It was 57 degrees, calm, and sunny when I left walking
to town this morning.
There were deer out front and they calmly kept walking
and went around back as I walked down the driveway.
Managed to get a picture of one of the wild turkeys
walking across the road.
When I got to town I walked over to the post office to
post some mail.
Then walked up the hill towards the school.
Didn't go as far the school today and turned around here
at this driveway.
Down past the post office again to the main road and back home again.
No Rebecca this morning but saw Lisa.
Walked 5.6 miles
☀️ 🙂 ☀️
Went outside again right after breakfast and got more work
on the deck done.
It is done for the most part. Just have a few finishing touches to do.
Think on Friday I'll be hanging the laundry out on the deck!
We came in lunch time.
Packed us up a lunch and headed out in the truck for a little ride.
Dropped our garbage off at the refuse center.
Drove to Burger King and ate our lunch in the
parking lot watching cars and people.
Then we went for a little ride along the lake.
Lots of people about on their vacations.
Seemed like any other summer.
We were glad to get back home to Happy Trails.
While I was out walking Ken took this picture of the buck walking
around from our bedroom window.
Pretty sure it is the same buck that I've seen when I'm out walking.
The rest of the afternoon we puttered about the house.
I even read a little which I haven't done the last couple of days.
After supper I walked around watering some flowers because
it hasn't rained in the last couple of days.
Next to morning, early evening is my next favorite time of the day.

Rose - the Trex color is Madeira and is the same as the front porch.

Since we seldom see turkeys any more, it is fun to see someone else sees them! Love that pic of all the Queen Anne's Lace...and love the color of the Trex. And I really, really like that first pic. The early morning sun...
Oh, my brother and his wife have deer that come to their yard, and one of them plays with their dog. They chase each other around the yard. LOL
...the Queen Anne's Lace is such wonderful flower, I remember as a kid cutting them and putting them in colored water! A nice little button buck.
I love how you take each day and make something out of it. Makes for a good life.
Wonderful deer photo. Your country road walk into town always seems so delightful and filled with scenes to enjoy. Can't wait to see the finished deck. I also like packing a lunch like you two do...but we'd wait for winter (summer temps soaring near the century mark by 11 a m would be too brutal)
You and Ken got some nice pictures of the wild things you see . Kind of funny how often you see deer and turkeys. You deck will be so much enjoyment. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Lovely shadows and sunshine. Nice buck photo. Glad you were able to finish the main part of the deck. You reminded me I need to go out and turn on the sprinkler!
Pretty wildflowers. You got a good shot of the wild turkey.
You parked in the Burger King parking lot for your picnic? Was that really the best you could do? No lake, no pond, no field? ☺️ Gorgeous pics of the Queen Anne's Lace.
Why did the turkey cross the road? I'm surprised no one asked that. Am I that predictable?

There's an echo on your Blog today, Happyone.
God bless.
Hello,
Love the first scene, with the sunshine and shadows. Cute shots of the turkey and deer. The flowers look beautiful. I hope to see a photo of your deck when you are done. Take care and stay safe! Enjoy your day!
Nice capture of the turkey crossing the road. The first photo has great light stretching over the lawn, very pretty. Ken got a great shot of the deer. Have a wonderful day!
Did you tell your turkey that his cousin is in our yard....baking in the sun? heeeheee! It's hard to believe you've had such cool mornings. We hiked this morning and it was 77 when we started and in the 80s when we finished. But it felt good to get out in nature. Love that you see deer so often. We saw deer tracks! lol Hugs!
Seems like weeks since I've seen you. :) Isn't it fun to park and watch people. Dan and I used to drive to Dairy Queen, get a Blizzard, then park and watch folks coming and going. Haven't done that in a long time. The Queen Anne's Lace is beautiful.
The days you describe sound like wonderful, peaceful days, yet getting things done as needed.
The buck looks contemplative.
