Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walk, deer, and work

A little foggy this morning as I headed out walking to town.
It was very calm and 60 degrees.

Once I got to town walked around both of the cemeteries,
two times each.

Saw Lisa and her husband Dwayne walking around the lower cemetery.

Passing the town pond on my way to the cemetery on the hill
I spotted the geese back again.
The little ones are just as big as their parents now and
couldn't even tell the difference.

Walking back home again I saw this deer just coming out of the woods.
She stopped just at the edge and watched me.
She was a lot closer to me than it looks in the picture.
Stopped for a bit to talk to her and she just stayed there.
Finally I walked on and she started eating.
I think she must be one that comes visiting us because she didn't run off.
Others when I walk can't get away from me fast enough.

One more mile to go before getting home when I reach here.
So very peaceful.  Just hear the birds.

Walked 5.7 miles

We went to the Dollar General right after breakfast
to pick up a few items.
Only one other person in the store.

Dolly came by and stopped under the bridge again.

We worked on the deck for a couple of hours.
It was a pretty cool day but hot out in the back
working in the sun.

Went in for lunch and later worked a bit more on the deck.
A thunder storm came rolling by so we quit working.
We are a little more than half finished.
Will take some pictures of our progress tomorrow.

Sure am looking forward to my ice cream tonight.
Chocolate Marshmallow.

Thanks for visiting.

Dolly found a good spot for sure. Our DIL named one of the deer that visit our yard Reba because of her ribs sticking out. Look forward to seeing the progress on the deck. Dear and our son got 4 roof panels up on the shop between yesterday and today. We are happy for that progress. I'll have to post a photo. Enjoy that ice cream!

Glad it is cool when you walk, that has to help. So many nice things to see, even friends while walking. You will have that deck done and sitting out on it soon. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
p.s. I love when I have the store to myself. LOL

Your foggy morning picture is beautiful. Those early morning shots are always the best. Just think of all you would have missed if you had slept in all those mornings when you were out walking. Dolly is a smart one; thinks the bridge was built just for her.

...the deer sure like the shelter that Ken built!

That first deer is such a pretty color right now...I am thinking you are probably right in it being one that visits your home. I love that first picture, too.

That first doe has some set of ears on her! She must be used to your voice. I imagine that it is cool under the stone bridge. How nice for Dolly to have her own secret place. Enjoy your ice cream.

The deer must consider that bridge hers. Chocolate Marshmallow sounds interesting, never had it. Enjoy and have a nice evening.

Chocolate Marshmallow does sound interesting. Last week I bought Chocolate/ chocolate chip flavour. Neither of us were impressed so I gave the second one to the "downstairs family". I had bought 2 because they were on sale.

Love the photos. How fun is the one with Dolly under the bridge. I wonder if she feels safe under there.
