Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

How Great Thou Art

Another great old hymn that we sing often at church.
It is Ken's favorite one.

How Great Thou Art

1. O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed:

Refrain

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art! How great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art! How great thou art!

2. When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:

3.  And when I think that God, his Son not sparing,
Sent him to die, I scarce can take it in,
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

4. When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, My God, how great thou art!

Deb - Yes, after moving from the Savage house we moved to Ellicott City, and lived there 4 years before moving here to Garrett County.

GrannyM - I wasn't blogging when we renovated the house.  The house was done in the mid 90's.

I was going to say...Elvis Presley sings it best! When I hear him sing it, I could easily fall to my knees! And you have it linked.

I love that hymn, Karen. It is one of my favorites. I know you have lived lots of interesting places, so sometime you will have to tell us about them all. We moved a lot too, when Charly worked for the Department of Defense, but we never went overseas. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. See you tomorrow.

There is no one who can sing How Great Thou Art better then Elvis did, and you can just hear it coming right from the bottom of his heart.
