Fire Hydrant

Cloudy morning and 64 degrees when I left walking to town.
No animals on the way today.
They were all in hiding.

Stayed at the edge of town and walked both cemeteries.

Going up to the cemetery on the hill

and then coming back down.

Stopped by the pond to look at the geese.

Then home again.

Dwayne was out walking as well as Rebecca and Lena too.

The cloudy skies kept it cool but still was pretty hot by the
time I was home again.
Ken was sitting out on the porch waiting for me and I joined
him while I cooled off.

Walked 5.7 miles

Only needed a couple of things from the Shop and Save so we
skipped a week.

We have an old fire hydrant that we got many years ago from Ken's dad.
When we had our dog Sammy Jo the hydrant was in her 'spot.'
It's been sitting up at the tractor barn since we moved here.
We brought it down to the house and wire brushed it and then gave
it a coat of primer.
It will be painted red and silver.
We have a place in front picked out to put it.
When it is painted and put in place I'll take a picture.

By afternoon it was raining off and on so we spent the afternoon
inside doing a bit of this and that.

Once a upon a time we used to go bowling on Tuesdays.
Miss that.
Wonder when we will be able to do that again.
Late in the day we finally did see some sunshine.

Have a happy day.

Kev - No, Ken didn't make the bird house, got it at a craft fair about 6 years ago.

RK - You can see the green afghan HERE.  It is near the bottom of the page.  A few other of my afghans are there too.

...I was driving through a small town recently and all the fire hydrants had different color combinations. I wonder what that is about, will investigate! It's nice to see all the Queen Anne's Lace along the roads.

A yard hydrant is a good way to give pets a spot. Hope yours won't be out for every neighborhood dog. ☺️

Every now and then, I don't need a weekly run to the store. I like those weeks.

I always enjoy seeing your photographs, my favourite today was the one with the geese.

Happy midweek wishes, can't believe Wednesday will soon be here!

All the best Jan

We had a dog and could not agree on a name. I took him for a walk by the cemetery and decided to name him after the first tomb stone he took an interest in. We called him Fire Hydrant.

God bless.

Hello,

Pretty views from your walk, I always enjoy seeing the pond and geese.
I have seen the fire hydrants painted around the streets of Baltimore, that was years ago. Take care, enjoy your day!

You cover pretty grounds as you walk. It's amazing how far you walk every day. I have pictured it here, from my house to the end of the canyon is about four miles, amazing. No wonder you are one happy woman.

Sometimes a rainy day is just what we need to take a break.

Nice work on that hydrant! There is always something to do indoors, isn’t there? You and Ken know how to keep busy! It’s looking like it will be a long time for things like bowling around here. Numbers are going the wrong direction daily! Take care, and be safe!
