Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Saturday

49 degrees this morning and cloudy but calm.

A walk to town this morning again.

Went around both cemeteries, the ball park loop,
and up and down a lot of the streets.

At one of the houses I passed by they were getting a
garage sale set up.
Didn't even stop to look.

Saw Lena out walking around the ball park loop
with a friend from another town.
We stopped for a little chat and she introduced me to Pam.

Lena's daughter Rebecca was out walking too but not with them.
She walks really fast - yes she passes me up.

Looks like the fountain in the pond isn't working so good again.
It is just a dinky little thing now.

Since Ken had to go to the lumber yard again I met him
at the town pond and got a ride home with him.

So again I walked the 2 miles to town and just stayed
and walked the other 4 miles in town.

☁️     🙂     ☁️

We got the clothes line put up on the deck
and made a couple of steps off the deck.
It is pretty low to the ground so we aren't going to bother
about a railing and besides the clothes line takes up one side and
two sides are next to the house.

After lunch while Ken went out and moved
some dirt around with the tractor
I stayed inside and moved some things around the house.
Not furniture, just collections and decorator items.
I get tired of seeing them in the same place and just moved them around.
Gives me a chance to get some dusting done too!

Finally finished reading Written in My Own Heart's Blood
by Diana Gabaldon.
Book number 8 in the Outlander series.
Looking forward to number 9 when she finishes writing it.

That's all for today.
Thanks for stopping by.

Victor - 100 pennies to the dollar.  The Dollar General in town is a small grocery store that also sells, cards, some items of clothing, and seasonal things.

Cheri - Yes, unfortunately we too have those annoying gnats!  I don't drink coffee or wine but will enjoy sitting out back on the deck watching the deer. 😀

...I don't stop to look at garages sales either. Every Wednesday we try to put stuff out at the road for the trash collection, it's amazing would people pick up the night before.

That first scene could almost have been from my childhood...I love to ramble in places like that.

I love that there are so many people out walking.

I have always wanted a clothesline but I have no place to put it. My yard is full of trees, one of them is a huge mulberry tree. 2 words - purple poop.

have a great night!!

I like to move my pretty things around too. As you say, that's a good time to dust
Looks like another pleasant day for walking.

49 degrees in your area sounds wonderful at this time in our area. We reached temps of 105 the other day. It is nice to have "fellow walkers" to stop and chat with ! Love your serene photos!

Thanx Happyone; so a penny is like one cent. Like in the UK; 100 pennies/pence to £1.

God bless.

Hi Karen- The Town Fountain may need the water pressure turned up? Good that you have the Cloths Line up- look forward to seeing a photo of the completed Deck. Cheers. KEV.

Hello,

Love the view of the pond and the street. It was really cool yesterday, no humidity. A great day to be outside. Enjoy your day, have a happy new week ahead!

The view of the pond is lovely. No garage sales here, we have an occasional boot sale which is held in a parking lot. People get together and display their items in the boot (trunk) of their cars.
Enjoy your day.

It's nice not to have to put a railing up on the deck. Glad you got good working weather.
