Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Church

It was wonderful to go church in the building this morning.
It has been so long and I knew it would be great
but I was surprised how emotional it actually was.
Walking through the doors and seeing our church family
brought tears to our eyes.
People calling out to us, waving and smiling, it was so comforting
to be with all these people again.
(We wore our masks entering and leaving and sat
the required distance apart.)
It was a different service without the choir, or the
handshaking hymn, no collection plates passed around and
no hymn books, but what a blessing to be there.

 Isaiah 41:13
KJV
For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand,
saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

God bless you in these troubling times.

Just the description of the moment made me tear up. Highly emotional and it reminds us all over again of the importance of being together. We were not created to live lives of isolation.

So glad you got to go to church. We are still meeting at home. No word about when our congregation will start up again. We think that it is probably because COVID rates are really going up around here and our congregation is really a lot of older people - Charly and I are on the young side of our congregation. Have a good week. See you again soon.

Glad to hear you were able to go to church. Many of our churches are still having outdoor services, whether in cars or underneath the picnic covering.

I think I can understand the emotions that would ring. I got to worship with a couple of church families outside today and even that was emotional.

We have been having open church since Mothers Day. Like yours, we sit a distance, no choir and dont pass the plate. We walk to the alter and place our tithes in a plate during offering time.

How wonderful you could attend church in person. I will tear up when our church has in person worship again, we are planning to do that July 12, here in our city in California. I have been enjoying the live streaming services each Sunday and then right after church our small group meets with Zoom. When we meet in person we have maybe 22 people, and in our Zoom about 15. Not everyone can do Zoom.

To me, a church service needs no choir nor hymnals...it's Just attending that counts. Wonderful, and spiritual uplifting post!!
