60 degrees this morning when walking.
It was a rainy walk but no wind.
The rain was a nice steady mild rain,
good for the plants we planted yesterday!
The mower came by yesterday mowing down lots of wild
flowers along the side of the road!
Glad some of them survived.
I'm sure it won't be long before all the flowers will grow back again!
Walked to town and around both cemeteries,
around a block in town and back home again.
Found another glove and added it to the posts along the road.
That makes 12 I've put there now.
There are a dozen more posts so room for another 12!
The house by the cemetery now has a roof over the deck.
Looks like a pretty substantial roof for a deck so maybe
they are getting a sun room.
Will have to wait and see.
Didn't see anyone else out walking.
Even less animals than usual.
Walked 6.2 miles
June is my Morning Walk anniversary month.
I've been taking a morning walk for the past 32 years!
🙂 🌧 🙂
Did my usual stuff around the house.
Walked around outside in the afternoon.
All the plants are doing well so far.
Ken bought me a Kindle and I spent some time looking that over.
Always takes me a while to learn a new device.
I'm one that likes to hold a real book but the Kindle
has its place too for me.
That's all for today.

GrannyM - Yes, I started 16 sunflower seeds inside, but planted a bunch of seeds outside directly in the dirt too. They are the giant mammoth size.
Vee - Daisies coming up nicely but too soon for flowers.

I love my kindle but nothing can replace holding and the smell of a real book!
Hi Karen - I have a Kindle as well and use it from time to time, but prefer the paper and ink books. It is nice to be able to download ebooks when you can't get a paper copy of the book. Sometimes ebooks are cheaper or free as well. I love your new plants and yes, that does look like that house will have a super nice deck or sunroom soon! Have a good day.
Happy thirty-second Walking Anniversary! That's quite an accomplishment! There's nothing like a good rain to get new plants off to a great start.
32 years! Congratulations! The two patches of Milkweed where I watch for Monarchs have both been mowed down this spring.
...your wet pavement looks good, the light rain that occurred earlier this week disappeared quickly. Take care Karen and enjoy your weekend.
I hope you learn to enjoy the kindle as much as I enjoy my iPad. I much prefer to read of it as opposed to a book. It seems easier for me.
Congrats on the 32 years!
I hope before long you are like a friend of mine...she would not even consider a kindle, then was not long before she was asking me why I didn't make her get one sooner. She just did not want one at all, but once she had it a bit she loves it. The kindle is more restful on my eyes a regular computer. There are pluses and minuses to it..
Oh, do you want me to send you links to the newsletters I get of free or reduced price books? Sometimes I go a week without seeing anything I want to get...others may bet two or three books a week. And don't forget your library...maybe it has Overdrive or some similar way to check out ebooks.
Interesting to see more of the mysterious deck. Oh, yes, the daisies are coming along well. I have some marigolds to plant tomorrow and some lantana. No rain for days and not much rain in the forecast. I may just put them in a pot and call it good.
I think it's funny that you have found so many gloves. Womder if anyone has ever recognized one and stopped to take it off the post. The rock around your new home is so pretty. Those daisey will be pretty growing there.
Happy Anniversary! 32 years is amazing. That is a crack up about all those single gloves. Wonder if people forget them on top of their cars...
Good for you, walking for all those years. I can't remember when I first started. For years when I had a home daycare I had to walk in the evenings. When I was already tired. I love being able to get out first thing in the morning.
Hi Karen- Have a great Weeekend there- here it is Monday that is a Public Holiday - so it is a three-day 'Long Weekend'. Regards. KEV.
Your walking is slightly longer than my age
32 years of walking - multiplied by 6 miles a say, equates to ... I don't know ... walking to the moon and back? Have you ever calculated it?
My Grand-dad used to walk seven miles a day. After a fortnight we did not know where he'd gone. We're still looking for him all over Europe.
God bless.
Hello,
I am glad all the flowers were not mowed. 32 years of walking, congrats! I love my kindle, it is an easy way to download library books. Enjoy your day, happy weekend.
Exciting to have a new kindle! It opened an entirely new world of authors to me when I got one several years go. I'm sure you will enjoy it! I've found a great new author - Charles Finch - writing the Charles Lenox mysteries. You should read them in order if you read them (in my opinion). The first one is called "A Beautiful Blue Death"
Wow!32 years you must be in great shape, I find it so amusing that so many gloves are lost, sounds like me. ~smile~
You have such a beautiful area to walk, your weather is nice too! Today we have high temps. with high humidity.
Have a great day,
Sue
Very impressive, 32 years of walking. Great accomplishment and you're still going just like the energizer bunny. :)
Have a happy weekend.
"I've been taking a morning walk for the past 32 years!"
Very well done … and you are still going strong :)
All the best Jan
OMG 32 years of morning walks. I am astounded. What wonderful good feet you have. :) I thought of your glove fence the other day. So happy you are still doing it. You are waving at everyone who goes by. Blessings, stay safe, xoxo, Susie
