Left the house a little earlier than usual at 6:15 this morning
and that was sunrise time.
It was 41 degrees, cloudy, and felt like rain so
took along my umbrella just in case.
Another walk to town today and over to the ball park and walked
that loop a couple of times.
Then a loop around town before heading back home again.
Happy to say I didn't need the umbrella because on the way
home it got sunnier and sunnier.
Full sun when I reached home.
This is across the street from our house.
Walked my usual 6 miles

Oh no that calf escaped again and came up our driveway
and this time he brought along a friend.
His friend is down at the bottom and is a red color.
A little hard to see him between the trees.
They must have jumped the cattle gate because I saw
Farmer Gene mend the fence!
After lunch we went hiking around Happy Trails for a while.
Walked along the trails and picked up branches that fell.
There is always something to be picked up along the way
and we try to keep the trails clear.
Though I like all the seasons, this time of year is my favorite time
to be here hiking around in the woods.
Temperature just at 60, sunny, and you can see far into the woods.
I like it before everything grows in and gets overgrown.
We didn't see any deer or bears but did see evidence that
they're out there.
We sat on the porch for a bit before going back in the house.
Worked on the cross stitch some more too.

We had a rake just about exactly like that! I don't know what happened to it. You have to wonder about those calves. Those calves have that nice green grass but it wants to come over and visit you guys! They are funny.
I think your mom is the first person I have ever heard that loved Butter Pecan...I really like it to. And love it in float. Better than anything other flavor.

That clear blue sky looks so good.
My walk began with what I thought were harmless summer clouds but ended in a light shower. I finally spotted a warbler but I couldn't identify what kind. Warblers always pass through the area on their return migration.

Hi Karen- good to see the Sun and clear days- bit warmer here today and there is no wind...though the nights are cold. Was going to do some model making though may defer it until later in the week. Have a nice time there. KEV.
It surely is a lovely time of year to hike. That is so neat that you have hiking trails on your own property. I am wondering how much acreage you have and if you have ever seen a bear while hiking on your property. So glad you had a beautiful sunny day today. Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

The leaves are filling in the spaces fast now, so we won't be able to see very far into the woods much longer. You know the old saying, "The grass is always greener on the other side." In this case, it's on the other side of the fence.
What a beautiful day it turned out to be. Looks like the farmer will have to adjust his fence to keep the calf and his buddy in.

There's always the evidence even if you don't see them. We just heard about a bear that frequents our area from the neighbors. So far so good. We haven't encountered a bear and we haven't encountered rattlesnakes. Glad you could get a rain free walk in...
