Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cast iron pot

Left the house and drove to town at 6:40 for my walk.
Temperature was 30 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds
and mostly calm.
Sunrise 7:32

Dropped off a couple more books at the library.
Still have three more library books at home to read.
Since the library is closed till who knows when, this will be a good time
to shorten the stack of my own books to read!

Walked up and down most of the streets in town.
Then walked loops around the ball park and both cemeteries.

Noticed this cat sitting there under the tree as I walked by.

Just a routine walk but especially nice just to be outside
early in the morning to see the start of a brand new day.

Walked 6 miles
Found a Penny  ๐Ÿ™‚

Stayed home around the house all day and didn't do all that much.
Just the usual stuff.

Our friends Carol and Ronnie gave us this old cast iron pot
with the lid in the shape of a train engine.
What a great gift for us.
There was no special reason, they just saw it and thought of us.
How nice is that!!
We put it on our gas stove in the living room.

When the water inside it gets hot enough it makes steam come out
the smoke stack of the train.

 That's all for today.
A happy day to you.
Thanks for visiting.

It is always so nice to be thought of...I have never seen anything quite like that 'lid.' but I sure love it. That sky shot is stunning!

Wow! I have never seen a cast iron pot like that! How amazing! I know you are thrilled to have it! Glad you had a good walk. We hiked this morning and only saw 2 other people on the trail! Are your streets less busy now with traffic? Enjoy your evening!

What a perfect gift! Does the gas stove get hot enough for actual steam? I also enjoyed yesterday's post!

How clever that the steam comes out of the engine! Your sunrise is stunning - such beauty helps me remember that one day the world will be set to rights once again. Stay well!

That is a very nice novel Pot- being made of cast Iron it must be very heavy...I'll chance that children would love to see the steam coming out of the chimney.

Now that’s a cool pot! How sweet of your friend to give you that.
We see cats on our walk too. Most of them are wild and run when we pass but lately they will sit and watch us. I guess they are getting used to us walking by.

What a wonderful gift, so unusual, and so thoughtful, Karen, Friends are one of God's most precious gifts to us.
I need this encouragement to walk today, I have been a little slack this week, only walking a couple of miles a day!
Enjoy your books, I have taken a few off my shelf too, and started reading again.
Blessings,
Sue.

Love, love, love that cast iron pot!

Fresh air is wonderful, isn't it. Supposed to get to 75 here in KS today and then high of 45 tomorrow and freeze a couple nights. Maybe I'll pick some spring flowers to bring in before it does.

I'm reading through books I own too and making a stack to donate. Will do same with jigsaw puzzles. I keep some to work a second time.

That cast iron pot is unique for sure. I have a grandson who loves trains and would get a real kick out it.

What a cool pot lid. Our library is closed as well. Things are closing all over the place. This is looking really bad.
