Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Sunshine

Today the wind has died down, it is not snowing, and the sun is shining.
BUT it was only 7 degrees this morning.
I bit too chilly for walking, there is still ice around so
one more day of walking in the house.

Another train layout picture.
An escapee is apprehended.

The snow plow finally made its way up the hill to our house
mid morning today.

Late morning it warmed up a bit to 17 degrees and we both
went outside to clear off the driveway.
Nice to get outside for a while.

What a welcome sight to see the sun shining.

We went to McDonald's and had lunch.
We both had the Southwestern Chicken Salad.
It is really quite good.
We sat in the parking lot and watched people come and go
as we ate.

Drove to town and dropped some mail off at the post office.
Then stopped in at the library.
Another book was waiting for me to pick up.
Also made up one of those plastic plates I bought with
some baked goods and brought it to the library to say
Merry Christmas.

Driving through town I took notice that the side streets and sidewalks
still have quite a bit of ice and snow on them
and realized I won't be able to walk in town tomorrow.
I'll probably stick to the lane and the street near home.

More house work got done today as well as
some reading and weaving squares.

That's all she wrote.
Till next time . . .
a happy day to you.

At least you get the opportunity of walking in the house.
Another nice picture of Ken's train layout.

All the best Jan

Brrrr....you are colder than us....I know the temp was 20 when we got up...or at least when I got up to stay...and it did warm up some from that. I do notice side streets here still look pretty treacherous. And some spots in the more well traveled roads.

It looks like that little jail has a few offenders. :)

Those are some brazen prisoners. 😁 I bet the librarian loved the Christmas treats. You are a thoughtful one. Hope that you get to walk your regular route soon.

7 degrees! Yep that's cold. Sunshine is such a welcome sight after stormy weather. Love the vintage layout with those police cars! Those cakes for gifting you made are so cute!

I love the detail of Ken's train layout. Glad you were able to get into town today, but I think you are very wise to avoid the icy streets tomorrow. See you again soon. Have a good day!
