Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Icy morning

Looked outside when I got up and it looked icy out there
so didn't go outside to walk.

Got my walking done mostly in the basement
but did walk a little outside later on.
Snapped this picture along my walk in the basement.

Spent a good part of the day working on the puzzle and
wouldn't be surprised if we get it done by the time we go
to bed tonight.

Got a little cleaning done, some reading, and even made
some weave-it squares.

Made Stuffed Pepper Soup for supper.

It's been a good day and I'm thankful for it.
A happy day to you.

I love the picture of Ken's little train city. I would sure love to see his set up one day. We have had a very snowy day here. Charly and I walked outside, but it was cold and wet and icey so we only went about half as far as we usually do. Hope you are able to get outside and walk tomorrow.

Yes, it does look icy … so it was a good idea to do most of today's walking in the basement.

You are doing well with the puzzle.

All the best Jan

...WOW, Ken does miss a beat with his layouts. It sounds like your bad weather is coming to us. Karen stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.

Love what Ken does with his displays. Looks beautifully realistic. The signage is particularly interesting and well done.

Hope you have lots of puzzles lined up for the season. 😁

I had never heard of Stuffed Pepper Soup...but bet you have not heard of Stuffed Pepper Casserole that I make. LOL I had to look at your soup...I would like it. I know.

Thankfully we did not have the ice this morn.

Ha ha ha...love the scene from your garage! 😊 And very glad you did not go out with the ice.

What a fun, sweet blog you have here, happyone. Just simple days and lots of thankfulness. It keeps me coming back.

I like that outside shot from early morning! And I also enjoyed your scenery as you walked down in the basement.

It didn't look very nice for walking out your door. Here we finally got rid of the wind and are back to walking. We didn't see the Eagles but the Heron was standing in the reeds not 15 feet from the boardwalk.

You have some great views wherever you walk. It looks like there's lots to admire along the tracks. You did well to start the puzzle. It may be a long winter!

Good choice to walk inside. You definitely wouldn't want to fall and get hurt.

I like the photo you snapped downstairs. At first i thought it was your new puzzle. It does look icy there and it's a good thing you stayed indoors. It sounds like you made the best of the day. It's very cold here but at least we had sunshine (no rain or snow). Have a wonderful weekend.

Hello,

Ken's train layout looks really good. The stuffed pepper soup sounds yummy. We had a cold but sunny day yesterday. Rain coming later tonight or tomorrow. Enjoy your day, happy weekend!

Would walking on a "dreadmill" be worse or better? Glad you didn't risk the ice. The train layout is something!!!

No ice here yet. Its been in the 60’s. Ken does a good job on his train layouts.

Good decision to do the basement walk. I love the photo of the town, it is nicely commposed. The puzzle would take me months to do plus I have no place to put it.
Enjoy your day!
