Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Farm Loop

Drove the Jeep to town and started my walk at 6:50.
It was 44 degrees, calm, and sunny when the sun rose.
Sunrise 7:21

Walked the Farm Loop this morning.
It was early enough so didn't have to worry about
the car and bus traffic on the road up to the school.
Remember the sunflower welcome sign I took a picture
of a while back.
Here it is again.  This time decorated for fall.

Walking on the last part of the loop on the way back to town
a bunch of wild turkeys came running out of the woods and
when they saw me they ran back in.
Tried to snap a picture but they were too quick.
They only thing I got a picture of was a feather one of them lost.
Walked around town a bit too till I got my 6 miles in.
The marigolds by the library are still blooming.
With my 6 miles walked I was just getting back to the Jeep
when Kathy drove in and parked.
We had a short chat and she started her walk and I drove home.

🍁     ☀️     🍂

This morning Ken went out right after breakfast on the tractor
to smooth out a few places on one of the trails.
I had to stay at the house to do laundry and some other house stuff.

After lunch, finally got the Jeep washed which I've been wanting
to do since Friday.
Ken was nice and helped me.
With his help it got done twice as quick.

Then we took the ATV out again to scope out another trail we can make.
Didn't start clearing it yet though.
That will be for another day.

Ken harvested some more rocks and started building the
wall on the other side of the basements doors.
This side should go faster since it is quite a bit smaller.

 Well that's it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Hi Karen- 21 Acres is huge- well done. Back in 1990 I has 7.5 Acres out near the country township of Young- had it all fully fenced, gated and a rather large dam put in...in 1993 I sold the property and managed to pay off our house and car...been debt free since 1993...I tripled the value of the Acreage by three times from the original payment- a great investment. Cheers. KEV.

The Marigolds are still looking so nice. Mine looked so bedraggled that I pulled them out. I did bring in the last Iris though because it was only a bit over freezing this morning. Didn't want to chance it getting nipped by frost.

I used to collect feathers from my daily walks, but not so much now. There are, however, a couple on the window ledge beside me. I can almost picture you as just a tiny speck far down this old highway (that goes on forever, of course).

Nice feather. I prefer pennies.

God bless.

It was nice of one of the turkeys to leave behind a feather for you. :) The marigolds are pretty and vibrant.
Have a wonderful evening.
