Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Four Lined Up

Left in the jeep this morning at 6:30 and drove to town for my walk.
It was a cloudy morning, breezy and 64 degrees.
Sunrise 6:56

Walked all over town, up and down side streets,
around the ball park loop and both cemeteries.
Went down by the Drane house to see the horses.

It made me smile to see these four standing along side each other
according to size.

These trotted on over to the fence by me.
The one in the middle is very friendly.
By the time I got back to the jeep a mist was in the air.

Walked 6 miles
Found a Penny
💰     💰
Stayed home today to get some things done around the house.

Sat on the porch for a short while and read.
Went back inside because it was a bit cool for just sitting.
Would have been nice for working.

It is starting to look like fall here at Happy Trails.
Leaves stating to change color.
Took this sitting on the front porch.

Finished reading Fudge Cupcake Murder by Joanne Fluke.
Her usual easy fun to read books.
Copied a Fudge Cupcake recipe from the book.
Just what I need, another GOODIE that I shouldn't eat!!!

That's it for today.
Hope yours was a happy one!

Tom - The house from yesterday is more red than pink.  The bright sun made it look pink.
HennyPenny -  Thank You. Yes, my hair does grow fast.  The day before Ken had just trimmed an inch or so off the ends.

That photo of the horses/ponies brought a smile to my face, too. So funny that they were lined up according to size. It has been hot here this day. And supposed to be hot next week, too.

Those horses/ponies were sure cooperative, lining up like that.

I am beginning to notice a bit of color in leaves here. Some of it is due to the dry conditions though. I am wondering when the crops there will be harvested.

Love the horses...they look like they were really glad to see you. No changing leaves here yet but fall is most certainly in the air!
