Out walking at 6:35
64 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds and very still
Sunrise 6:23
On the way to town I saw a few deer,
two of which were walking down the middle of the street.
Walked around the lower cemetery and then went
up the hill to the other cemetery.
Tina and Max were coming down the hill.
Walked around the cemetery a couple of times and then
down to the Drane house.
Back up to the cemetery around there one more time
and then back home.
This guy was just a little thing when he arrived at the farm next door.
He has grown quite a bit.
He is the only red/brown one there.
Poor thing, look at all those flies on him.
🌤 🌤
Got some house work done first thing after breakfast.
Ken was outside working on a stone wall on the bedroom
side of the house.
The wall is continuing down from the waterfall.
After lunch we started trail blazing a road for the
ATV to go from the back of the house over to the driveway
that leads up to the cabin.
From there we can hook into another road that we've made.

Also will be a good place for me to walk in the winter
when I can't walk the roads to town with ice and snow.
I only lasted a little over an hour out back
till the bugs just got too bad.
Then I sat out on the front porch and read and made weave-its.
Pizza Monday and this time we went to Little Caesar's
and got the thick crust pizza.
On the way home a car was on the side of the road with a man
standing next to the bear (dead) he had hit.
The police were already there.
It's been a nice sunny day with cool breezes.
Hope your Monday was a happy one

I love your photos today...I hope everyone clicks to expand the view...that goldenrod shot is excellent!
...I can't imagine hitting a bear!
Hitting a bear cannot be a good thing. Love that Goldenrod.I am seeing a lot of it in bloom around here as well.
Too bad about the bugs plaguing you. This time of year seems to be the worst for bugs.
Too bad the bear got hit. I imagine there was a fair bit of damage to that car. We had the misfortune of hitting a deer once. It didn't do a lot of damage but still we had to have the grill fixed.
Yikes! Hitting a bear! How big was the bear? 😣
Your new road will be ever so much better for winter walking. Far better than walking in circles in the basement. 👍🏼
When I look at those gorgeous early morning shots, I can almost feel a bit of cool early fall air. :~) Guess I am just dreaming because it is so hot here. We almost made it to 100 today - 98 hot degrees. Like everyone else, I love the goldenrod.
So sorry about the bear.
God bless.
Hope the guy who hit the bear wasn't hurt. I've seen many moose hit by cars in Alaska and some drivers were killed. Lovely photos, a great start to a new week. A happy day for sure. :)
Hello,
Love your beautiful sky and landscapes. Cute cow! So sorry about the bear, I guess it didn't run fast enough to cross the road. Some of the young bears now are skinny, not much to them. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
He doesn't look too healthy
The cow looks sad and unhealthy.
But I guess the bear had a worst day.

Poor little bear. :( So glad it wasn't you who hit the him. I agree with Rose...the goldenrod shot is amazing!
I love the flowers (guldenroede). What a nice photos.
The poor bear.
That's sad about the bear.
I'm glad a walking trail is being blazed for the winter.
That poor cow is covered in flies. You and Ken are always working on something interesting. Hope you will show us the stone wall...not that I can copy you on that one. :) I'll do good to ever finish the one I am working on. It is not looking as pretty here in the summer months. When fall gets here I want to add lots of fresh limbs. Gosh, I can't imagine hitting a bear.
Wow! That first photograph is fabulous.
All the best Jan
