Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Sunny day but no walk

The sunset last night from the front porch.
Even though this morning was a good one for walking outside
(24 degrees F, no wind, and sunny)
I wasn't able to go.
We left early and went to church, hooked up the trailer of Roman's
books that was loaded yesterday and drove down to Staunton, VA,
so there wasn't time for much else today.

Nice when we got there that a fork lift driver was there to help
take out the finished pallet and load the next one for us to do.
Ken usually drives the fork lift himself.

Instead of driving back on the highway to come home we chose
to take the back road.  Some of the trip is taken on back roads anyway.
There were so many trucks on the highway and it was a more
pleasant drive not having them fly past.

Home now and we just had supper.
Since I spent most of the day in the car,
I just have a few thousand steps on my pedometer
so I'll be walking around the house and basement
to get my step goal in.
The bare minimum I like to have is 12,000.

That's it for today.
Looking forward for that morning walk tomorrow.

A happy day to you.

Glad you had a safe trip...I would not want to be on the highway/interstate pulling a trailer! It is bad enough in a regular car. And there is one strip of Interstate 70 between Terre Haute and Indianapolis...actually between a town that is just west of Terre Haute and Indy...I won't travel it of my own free will. Though I think the wrecks/deaths have slowed down. Just a few years ago there were over 400 wrecks on that stretch of highway in a year's time. And I think it is about a 70-80 mile stretch...well, maybe a bit more.

Some days one has to get as many steps in as possible and maybe make up for it the next day.
Beautiful sunset picture.

Beautiful sunset with those dark silhouettes. Hope that you get most of your steps...you are strict with yourself. Did it look like spring out there on your drive?

12,000 steps daily is awesome. Enjoy your day!
