Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Almost done!!!

27 degrees, no wind, and once the sun rose it was a mix of sun and clouds.
Walked to the end of my road and turned right and walked up the hill.
Turned around just up ahead at the house on the bend.
Sorry for the poor quality of the photo but it was the only
one I took while walking this morning,
Walked back down past my street and went to the main
road and headed up to town.
Walked to the parking lot at the church where I turned around
and walked home.

I must have seen 30 deer this morning all over the place.
Lots of Robins too and one little rabbit.

Walked 6 miles.
🌤     🌤
 Yes, another morning of painting.
BUT one or two more days and we will be DONE!!!

For lunch we drove down the road and went to Burger King
and had spicy chicken sandwiches.
Then back to the old house.
I cleared out the outside entry way down to the basement.
Lots of old wet leaves there.

Then helped Ken load up the back of the pickup truck with stuff
out of the shed out back.
He is taking it all up to the 'sale' that he goes to with his friend Edd.
It is an auction and they take anything to auction off.
He will take it all up the auction place tomorrow and then on
Friday it will get auctioned off.

Once we got back home,
Ken went outside and moved some more dirt around with his tractor.

I stayed inside and got some inside stuff done.

Left for church early this evening and had a spaghetti supper
there before the church service.
The teens are trying to earn some money for summer camp
and this is one of their fund raisers.
No set amount, everyone just pays what the want too.

Home now and when I get down here will watch a NYPD Blue
episode.  Netflix only has through season 5 and this is the last disc.
Wish they had the rest of the seasons.

That's it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

From yesterdays comments it sounds like most of you are like me and not that impressed with mashed cauliflower!!
I DO like cauliflower just not mashed!!
A couple of you mentioned pizza crust made out of cauliflower.  That I won't even try,
after all Ken is Italian!!! 😊

Comment Replies:
Rose - Yes, I like the British mysteries also. Have watched New Tricks and we are watching Foyle's War now from Netflix. I enjoy the British shows and their shows are among my favorites.

NanaDiane - It is a 2 mile walk to town, so I like to walk there, then 2 miles around town, and then back home for the last 2 miles.

John - We don't have cable or satellite TV.  We stream Netflix, get the DVD's and own some of our favorite series and are quite happy just watching that.

Vee - The same was said about my painter grandfather!

Kev - Ken was in the Navy and we lived in Scotland for 4 years (1973 - 1977).
Lived in Kinaird Castle in the laundry room flat.  That was in Brechin.
Then we lived in Montrose and then moved on the base which was in Edzell.
Loved it there!!

If I should ever visit another country on another continent, it would definitely be Scotland. You surely must have some stories to tell about those four years. I am glad to read that you are almost finished with the painting. I think the two of you will be deserving of a little vacation when the last stroke of paint is finished.

...what a fabulous sunrise. Remember that 'almost only counts in horseshoes.'

Another beautiful sunrise!

Maybe painting will be done tomorrow! That’s probably what they say about all professional painters. ☺️

Spaghetti supper sounds great, especially with your church family and for a good cause. 🍝

That is a beautiful sunrise!

You are not missing much by not having cable or satellite...I told Roger tonight, we don't have one single show besides a couple of the singing shows, and Jeopardy that we look forward to watching. I look forward to PBS for the mysteries, but that is not every week...

And we do watch other things, but sure not like when The Waltons, or Little House was on...or even some of the old Westerns.

Hi Karen- thanks for letting me know about Ken's Navy Career - yes, Scotland is grand and you certainly must have enjoyed your stay there. 27Deg F there sounds a bit chilly - we are in Autumn with temps reaching still 80Deg C..if it is not raining it is still very humid and sticky...roll on winter! Regards. KEV.

We do not have all those fancy tv channels. We have basic cable. We enjoy wathing all the NYPD shows. We have yet to get Nexflex but we talk about it. About the only time we “benge” watch is on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

So happy for you that the end is in sight with painting the old house. Sounds like it will be ready to go back on the market. I saw a robin yesterday. Looking forward to seeing more. Have a great day!

That makes a good hike for you- with 6 miles total. Glad you are coming down home stretch with all the painting, etc.
I miss the fundraisers our kids used to do-lots of work but also exciting and fun for them.
Have a great day- xo Diana

I haven't seen much deer lately.

It's always a good thing to get a major project (like painting cabinets) checked off your list! I know you will be relieved when it's all complete. Spaghetti is always good on a Wednesday night!

You had such a busy day. I love your pictures of trees and sky.

Oh Gosh!! I HATE painting. You guys are such champs for doing the work yourselves.

Does your library have DVD's? We have borrowed a lot of series over the years. Can keep them for a week, sometimes two and renew just like books if someone else does not have them on hold.

Love the sunrise photo! Mashed cauliflower has no appeal to me. Glad things are going well for you.
