Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Mary

  Luke 1:30-35
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary:
for thou hast found favour with God.

And, behold, thou shall conceive in thy womb,
and bring forth a son,
and shalt call his name Jesus.

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest:
and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever;
and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Then said Mary unto the angel,
How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

And the angel answered and said unto her,
The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee,
and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:
therefore also that holy thing which shall be born
of thee shall be call the Son of God.

Luke 1:37
For with God nothing shall be impossible.

A blessed Sunday to you.

This story will never grow old...when I was a kid in elementary school, the 'Bible Women' came to school once a month I think it was and this was my favorite story.

I can't imagine what Mary thought and felt at this point in her life.

This was my reading for the second Sunday of Advent. What a remarkable person Mary was. I can’t imagine what she was thinking beyond what we’re told, but her head and emotions must have been awhirl.

However whirly her feelings may have been, she had the composure or obedient heart or whatever it was, to give her consent. Thank you, Mary!
