Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Outside, lunch, and Mexican Train

24 degrees this morning under cloudy skies
and I did get to walk outside.  😊
Walked up the lane and back a couple of times.
Our neighbors Ron and Teresa live up at the top of the lane and they
have a wonderful view looking into town.
I bet they get some fantastic sunsets to watch sitting on their porch.
Didn't try walking to town because the sidewalks aren't shoveled anyway
so just walked around near home.
Didn't see anyone at all, not even any cars.
No animals either but saw plenty of their tracks.

We met some of our friends at a restaurant an hour away
in Kingswood, WV called Monroe's for lunch.
Bit of a drive just for lunch but it was one of the couples favorite places.
The food was very good and reasonably priced.

From there we went over to one Ron and Debbie's house for an afternoon
game of Mexican Train.
Our afternoon of fun stretched into the evening.

I was asked to bring a dessert and made a new recipe.
Chocolate Eclair Cake, which I got off a blog.
Sorry I forgot which one.
If it was yours please let me know and I'll mention where I got it.

It was delicious and they all wanted me to let you know they
all thought it was delicious.

That's it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

I've tasted a dessert very similar except made with chocolate pudding. It was tasty!
Lots of snow out your way.

Wow...that is some view! I have never heard of that game before but it sounds like fun. It really looks like it's already winter at your place...beautiful snowy scenes!

That is a beautiful view! You live in such a pretty place. Just caught up with your post, back to the little weave-it looms. Those looms are really neat.

Is that their view into town? Wow. Might be a good trade considering...the climb up the hill and slippery roads or the view. Yup, the view might win. Sounds as if you folks are having a good time with your friends. Friendship is one of life’s greatest blessings!

Their view is a bit higher. I'm only up half of their driveway. I'll have to take another picture from there when the sun is shining.
