Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

We have gutters

Left at 7:00 again this morning and the temperature was 60 degrees.
Some patchy fog around but the sun soon chased that away.
Walked into town, and passed the old house, walked around town
and then headed back home.
Some deer about and a few chipmunks too.
Didn't see any other people out walking but the usual people
in cars waved as they passed by and some of the bus drivers too.

Walking up the last stretch of the road to home the man who is
putting the gutters on our house today passed me and when I got home
he was already at work.

We ate breakfast on the porch and then I went inside
to get some house work done but once inside I just couldn't
get motivated to do any.
It was much too nice out to be inside so back out I went.

Watched the gutter guy a while.
He makes the gutters on site.
Puts the flat aluminum in the machine and out comes a gutter.
It is unusual to have to pull it out but the aluminum was a bit
too wide and didn't go through smoothly.
He worked all day and finished putting all the gutters and downspouts on the house.
Now we are looking forward to a good hard rain to see how they work. 😊

I continued my project of picking up dead fall and adding it to my fence.

We are putting a small fence along the top of the driveway
along the rock wall that Ken made.  There are 8 posts to put in the ground.
Pretty hard going because we have to dig the holes in the gravel.
Today we put in 3 of them.
The posts are wooden and the fence will be made of chains.

Walked over to my cow neighbors to say hi.
A quick look at these two standing together
looks like a cow with 2 heads, don't you think?
That's it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Two heads and seven legs! Is that color on the leaves I see? I think you’re going to have some color after all…

I love the first and the last photos - so emblematic of Autumn. I can almost smell the tantalizing aroma of wet leaves … sounds like you got your gutters just in time!

I think thats cool how they make gutters onsite. We had some light fog too. They are finally calling for some cooler weather around here next week.

We only have one gutter on the house, don't know why it is like that. But it sure took some time to clean last month as I have took a old kitchen plastic trash can and filled it up halfway with junk.

The way they make those gutters is brilliant. That same van made ours a few years back. It's clever how the aluminium roll gets in the machine and comes out as one continuous gutter. No gaps for leaks. They work brilliantly. Rather expensive though!

God bless.

Hello, it is neat how they can make the gutters on site. The fall leaves look pretty, they are just brown here. Love the cows. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

You're seeing a lot of those pretty yellows! And the gutters will sure help with the leaves that fall. Enjoy your day! Hugs!

It does look like a cow with two heads! I can sure relate to your wanting to work outside instead of being inside. Our weather is still so hot and humid...I an anxiously awaiting cooler days so I can work outside, all day long! Hope you will show us the new fence. Everything thing is so pretty around your new home.

I bet that soil is rocky to dig through for those post holes. Good luck with the gutters.

Hello there. Gutters are a good thing for sure. We have some holey ones we need to repair. :) Happy October to you. Finally have a break from unpacking boxes and I'm trying to catch up with all my favorite blogs.
