Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day of concrete work

Left a few minutes after 7 this morning and it was 60 degrees.
Pretty windy out there too.
Walked into town.
No deer this morning along the road which was very unusual.

Picture taken from the first cemetery of the sun popping over the mountain at 7:40.
Walked all over town and then walked to the old house.
This is the most color I could find of the leaves.
Other years these trees are bright red and orange.
Our car was parked at the old house from the other day when we had to
take the trailer and after I walked I drove the car home.

While walking Ken went to Lowes's and got a pallet of concrete mix in
80 pound bags which was a total of 42 bags.

After breakfast we got started on a day of concrete work.
We continued filling in the holes of the cinder block on the
retaining walls on either side of the basement doors.
Ken mixed the concrete in the cement mixer again and I
poured the cement in the holes with a large cup from McDonalds.
We did ALL 42 bags.
That pretty much took care of the whole day.
Took a break at lunch time and ate on the front porch.
We have to do another 3 pallets.

Nice that we don't have to go anywhere this evening.
Ready to enjoy a nice relaxing evening at home.

Hope your day was a happy one

Beautiful light in that first shot.

That cow looks seriously annoyed.

Well, no one can ever accuse either one of you of being afraid of hard work ~~LOL!
I'm glad for you that the weather is cooperating, and that you are able to get the concrete done before winter snows fly :)

Have a great weekend.

Hello, love the pretty sunrise and the cute cow. The trees are starting to look lovely, pretty colors. Happy Friday, enjoy your day and weekend!

The brighter colors are coming...they were delayed here, too, but now we are in peak. It went from moderate to peak in three days!

You are a good sidekick for your busy husband...he’ll tackle anything I’m thinking. That cement work is labor intensive...
