Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Orange Salamander

The morning started out with some low hanging clouds and lots of
sunshine too.  It was 64 degrees and very still.

All the fire trucks were out of the fire house getting washed and the town
workers were out sprucing things up for the 4th of July parade
tomorrow.

I walked my usual 6 mile route all around town.
Found 2 pennies.

Lisa was out running, Bill walking again, and this time Rebecca's
husband was out walking the dog.

This salamander was in the middle of the path around the ball
park loop being very still so I took a picture of it.
It was about 4 inches long.
This morning I made the last batch of cookies for Bible Time.
Baked Snickerdoodles this time.
I now have 21 dozen.

Time to mow the lawn again so that got done this morning too.
Had to wait till late morning when things dried out.

Ken was up at the new house playing around with rocks
and his tractor.

He was home for lunch and then went back.

This afternoon I made the sauce for the fruit salad I'm bringing for a
picnic we are going to tomorrow evening.
I'll add the fruit to the cold sauce tomorrow just before
we leave.

No church tomorrow evening because of the holiday so
we are having services this evening.
They will be held outside in what we call the barn
and then we'll have a campfire and roast hot dogs.
The town will be having fireworks so we'll be able to see them too.

Hope you found the bits of happiness in you life today
and you smiled often.

Pretty salamander! Our mobile home park is having a free cookout tomorrow evening (hot dogs & hamburgers) so we're planning on attending that. Too hot to sit outside and watch fireworks afterwards (temp will be 107°) so we'll just go home where it's a lot cooler. Have a great time at your church cookout! Happy July 4th!

That photo from your morning walk is beautiful! What a cool salamander. Salamander is my youngest daughter's (sally) nickname, the kids in high school started calling her that and it stuck.
21 dozen!! my goodness!
Have fun tomorrow!!

Actually I made half snickerdoodles and half chocolate chip cookies.
