Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A little sad but happy

A cloudy morning when I started walking at 6:30
and 66 degrees with no breeze.
Walked the Farm Loop.

A few cows were in the front pasture at the dairy farm.
Farther along the loop I stopped to take a picture of one of the corn fields.
The corn is about 4 1/2 feet high.
When I got back to town and had 2 more miles to walk I felt the first
drops of rain.  Not long after that it started raining in earnest and
I got pretty wet.  It was a nice rain, with no wind and the kind of rain
that is nice to walk in.  Besides I was getting pretty warm and the rain
felt nice and cool.  After a mile it stopped and I started drying out by the
time I got back home.

Walked 6 miles
Found a nickel
 🦆     🐄     🐑
After breakfast we went to the stone place with the dump trailer
and got a load or redish small stones.
Then we spread it around on the top of the lower driveway and
along the path and some more steps that Ken made out of rocks that leads
up the the upper driveway.
We've had rain showers and sun on and off all day.

After lunch we went to Walmart and on the way home we
stopped at Tractor Supply to look around.
Bought these two pictures of cows and chickens on tin.
Thought they'd look nice in the kitchen at the new house.

A bit sad today because our son David decided to go back to Asheville, NC.
I am really surprised that he stayed around here as long as he did.
To say he enjoys moving around is a bit of an under statement.
It sure was nice having him near to us for these last 8 months.
I am happy for him though because he is happy,
but I will surely miss him.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Oh man! That would be torcher for me if my daughter came home for several months then left again. Im just now getting used to her living out on her own. It has taken me a couple years and I’d hate to have to start all over. Needless to say, I still miss her like the dickens and get excited when she comes home for visits.

It was so nice having him live nearby. He's been out on his own since he's been 19.

I'm really looking forward to seeing your kitchen when you get moved in and everything in place! I love the tin pieces you got today at Tractor Supply...especially the one of the cows!

I'm sorry to hear that David is leaving the area because I know how much you and Ken enjoyed having him close by. Asheville is a beautiful area!

Sorry about your son moving away from your area. I hope it's withing a day's drive so you can visit him. ( I have no idea of the distance. sorry).
I do like the tin signs you chose for your new kitchen.

Is a nickel more than a penny?

Wishing you and your family well.

God bless.

Your surroundings look so manicured and beautiful, We are in desperate need of rain, our lawn and pastures are beginning to turn brown, we are now having to supplement with hay, which we normally don't do until fall. I almost bought the chicken picture at Tractor Supply yesterday, but opted for planters instead, ~smile~ I love this store and am always happy when DH has to shop there.
Best wishes to your son on this new adventure, Asheville is a beautiful place to live, we love to visit there when going to our mountains in the fall. Now you have wonderful place to visit too!
Thank you for visiting and for your sweet comment.
Blessings,
Sue

Yes, a nickel is worth 5 pennies.

Must pay better attention. I am so glad that David stayed around for the time he did. I know it feels better to have the kids nearby. One thing is sure...he’ll be back and maybe next time he vists the grands will be with him. You’ll have plenty of room!
