Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Oh no not again

My poor pretty daffodils only got to bloom for 2 days in the sun
and now look at them this morning.
⛄     ⛄
After a few days of summer like weather we are back to snow yet again.
It was 28 degrees and snowing when I left walking this morning.

Walked to the post office first to drop some mail down the slot.
Continued walking though town and back again and then
went around the ball park loop a couple of times.
On my way over to the cemeteries I slipped on some
ice and fell going down a slight incline.
Fell on my left side on my hip and elbow but no damage done.
I hopped up just as a man was coming over to see if I was hurt.
We both commented on this winter that just won't end.
Though I didn't get hurt I decided to walk back home.
Didn't want to take a chance of falling again.
So only walked 3.6 miles.
⛄     ⛄
On this cold winter like morning I thought it was just the
day to make some Buttermilk Pancakes.

I've been looking for some new walking shoes but can't see to
find any that feel good enough to go walking in.
This morning I decided to order some on line from LL Bean.
I chose theirs because my snow sneakers are from there
and I really like them.
So here's hoping that they will be good.  If I like them,
I'm going to order a couple more pair.
Instead of 'walking' shoes I'm trying hiking shoes.
I'll be walking more around Happy Trails more anyway when we move there.

It's  been snowing all day and we've stayed home.
My turn again for baking cookies for the kids at Sunday school this
coming Sunday and it seemed like a good day to bake the first batch.
This time I baked Snickerdoodles.

Hope you're enjoying your day. 🎈

Hope you’re not too sore after your fall. Poor Daffodils, hope you get more sunshine soon xx

Oh no! I hope it doesn't last long and your daffodils recover from the shock.
Glad to hear you weren't hurt in your fall.

I'm really sorry to hear that you fell this morning, Karen. I hope you won't be too sore in the morning. Glad that nothing was broken.

This weather is making me use all my powers of self-control to not throw myself on the ground in a big dramatic, epic wail. I have had it!

And here you are, chipper as can be...hopping up after falling...baking cookies. One if us is normal and healthy! 🙂

Hope that you are truly doing fine after that fall.

I think I will treat myself to pancakes for breakfast... I need to start the day on a sweet note.

So glad the fall didn't damage anything. Yikes snow again. I've heard that from many in different parts of the U.S. and Canada.

Life IS good...even though Old Man Winter is abit too clingy this year! Still frigid temps here, and I am aching to get out into the garden! The best walking, hiking and winter boots that I own, all came from LL Bean. And you must know that Snickerdoodles are always my go to fave! You always inspire me to get out there and walk a little more...thanks for that! Aloha!

Oh my...so sorry about that fall you took! Glad that you felt no effects from it...it was probably helped by still having to wear your heavy winter coat. This has certainly been the winter that wouldn't end OR the spring that won't begin! In a couple of months we will be complaining of the heat...or at least, I will. :D

I couldn't help but notice the comments from "happy one" on a couple of the blogs I visit, so thought I would come over and say hello. It's nice to meet another Karen:) I do like your blog name and tag line! There is always room for more optimism in life!. I'm sorry about your fall. I admire you for walking out when it is so cold. I hope the new shoes from LLB do the trick. I do like their products. Enjoy your day!

More snow!!! I really am a little worried that when this winter ends, it will shift directly into summer, and folks will not get any spring :(
Don't know if you've considered this, but I have an LL Bean visa card, and I get free "points" when I use the card (and it's the only one I use), to buy merchandise with. I've bought so, so many clothes, gifts, and other items over the years. Today a cool beach sun tent arrived. Might be a good way to get their shoes for much less $.

Oh dear, I hope you don't suffer any ill effects from your fall. Even with the snow your daffodils are much better than mine. I struggle to find shoes to fit. My feet were always wide and now are even wider. I gave up on the company that makes lovely styles in wide fittings as their shoes get bigger across the foot arch for swollen feet while I need width across the toes. Flip-flops and crocs are the best for me.

So glad you are ok, hope you won't get those pains that come later. I'm finally getting over my fall and it took a couple of weeks. This is the winter of all of our discontent for sure. It snowed here too night before last, but, of course, everywhere else it has been so much worse. Hopefully your daffodils will recover if the sun comes out.

Glad you were not hurt. We also received more snow this week, then it turned warm for a day. So strange.

I always feel like I'd dodged a bullet when I walk away almost free from a ice fall. I'm glad to hear you got on your feet okay.

I am so glad that you didn't hurt yourself. Crazy weather! Pretty photo of the daffodils and snow. Spring has been slow here as well. Good luck with the new shoes. Be careful out there.
