Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Ice Cream

🐝     🐝
This morning it was 60 degrees with a nice mix of sun and clouds.

Started my walk on the streets behind my house, then around town, the cemeteries, ball park loop and down toward HT.

There was a couple of young women walking that I see every once in a  while and an older gentleman who I see once in a while too. Rebeca was walking
her dog and Lisa was out running.  George was in town too.  Quite a few people out and about this morning.

Always nice to be out walking first thing each morning and today I walked 6.7 miles.

After breakfast Ken went out and got everything trimmed up neatly
in the yard with the weed wacker.
I joined him outside a little later after I got my morning chores
done around the house.
I raked up after Ken and pulled some weeds.
We were outside all morning in some beautiful weather.
Sun and clouds with a breeze and in the 70's.

The flyer for Shop and Save came in the mail and Hagan, our preferred
brand of ice cream (Turkey Hill is the other brand we like too)
was on sale so after lunch we went and got LOTS of ice cream.
Not much else is in our freezer out in the garage right now.
We were both in the mood for pizza tonight but since we haven't made it
at home for a while we decided to stay home and make some.
As you probably know I make the dough in the bread machine and Ken
makes the pizza.  We use a stone in the oven and it comes out really good.
He always makes a few slices for me with roasted garlic on it.

The book club selection for this month is
The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd
and I read some of it this afternoon.
It is very good so far.

Early evening it clouded up and we got a little rain shower.
Not long after the sun was shining again.
And so another day ends.
Hope your day was filled with sunshine.

I've never seen Hagan ice cream before

also I remember my mom calling us lazy for wanting to put the pizza box in the fridge by itself. I still do it

I'm smiling at your ice cream photo. That should keep you going for awhile :). I've never heard of the Hagan brand.
I LOVE the photo of the meadow flowers. Blue, white and a bit of yellow. Such a pleasing combination of colors. I have a pitcher of artificial flowers on my dining room table that looks very similar to those. How fun it would be to collect a real bouquet.
I'm looking forward to the weather you describe for working outside. I think I'll be waiting for awhile :).

Hmmmm...pizza! I haven't had any for months now and I am getting good and ready for some. Even though I don't have a pizza stone, I may have to make some homemade. The grands are coming so perhaps today would be a good day.

Homemade pizza . . . love it! We haven't had it for a while either and my hubby makes it on a stone in the grill, so yummy. I married into an ice cream loving family . . . we don't use dessert bowls around here, it's cereal size bowls all the way, LOL. Beautiful photos :)

Hi Karen! Aw! That's a nice ice cream haul!
I wonder if that book is good. I read her "goddess" book and was sad because her faith seems all mixed up.

Hi Karen, you really stocked up on your ice cream! ; )
We did have a day filled with sunshine but the weather forecasters were calling for rain so it was a bonus day.
Take care.

Oh I forgot, I went and looked at the photos for the house for sale down the road from you. It is a lovely house! Great deal too. If that was for sale up here it would be another $100,000.00 easily.
