Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Walk and a day at Happy Trails

🌻     🌻     🌻
Perfect spring morning for taking a walk.  60 degrees and sunny.
I was up and out right on time at 6:30.
Walked around town, both cemeteries and the ball park loop.
Don't usually walk around the little town pond because the grass is wet
but it was dry today so walked around the pond.

Pretty daffodils along the way
and forsythia.
The snow and cold didn't seem to bother them.

Lisa was out running and today I met the woman I saw walking yesterday.
As I was leaving one of the cemeteries she was just getting there.
Her name is Gail and she used to walk few years ago and is
now tying to get started again.

It sure was a beautiful morning to be outside.
Walked 6.3 miles
🌻     🌻     🌻
Though it is Tuesday and bowling day we didn't go.
Just too nice out to spend it inside so right after breakfast we headed
up to Happy Trails and spent the day there.
Ken had fun digging up rocks with the tractor and I helped
load rocks into the bucket loader.  Then they were dumped over by the
rock crusher and await there to be crushed another day.

Ken got a fire barrel going and I fed it scrap wood for a good part of
the day.  It was nice to see the huge pile disappear!!

Walked around like we usually do figuring out what other
projects need to be done.

Didn't get back home till a little after 5:00.  Didn't feel like cooking
so after showers we went to Brenda's for supper.

A couple of squirrels come to the feeders in our back yard too
and here is one of them.
That's it for today.
Hope yours was a good one too.

What beautiful photos. It's so nice to walk at those temps. I'm walking in the evenings now and it's in the 70s with a breeze...perfect! Enjoy your evening! Hugs, Diane

I remember when my dog was still alive she'd often try to chase squirrels. She was never fast enough

Happy to see you back from your break. What a beautiful morning you had for your walk. I read your post from yesterday while holding Addy so I did not have hands to type a comment. Love the beautiful spring color you enjoyed today!

Hi Karen, what a lovely day you had. Weather-wise you must be a couple weeks ahead of us. No daffodils or forsythia blooming quite yet here!
What a productive day up at HT. You and Ken deserved dinner out.
Have a good day!

Good for you, spending a nice day outside instead of in a bowling alley!
