Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

puzzles

41  degrees this morning on my walk and windy.
Just clouds and no sun.
Left at 6:40.

Walked to the library to drop off a book, then to public works to pay the water bill,
and then to the post office to mail a letter.

Walked the ball park loop and on to one of the cemeteries.
Duck still at the door to the doctors office.
The little town pond (pictured above) is across the street from the doctors office
so maybe Mr Duck goes over there later during the day.

Since the grass was dry this morning I walked around the town pond.

Ran into Kathy this morning walking around the first cemetery.
She never even noticed the duck until I showed her.

Back to the main road I headed down toward Happy Trails.
After turning around and heading back I saw a white work truck
start to pull over on the side of the rode by me.
Thought someone was going to ask for directions but it was Chuck,
a man from church.   He was off to a job with a coworker and just pulled
over to say hi and ask how many miles I walked.

Walked around cemetery number two and then around town some more.
Lee was out on his bike and stopped to give me two peppermint candies.
Hadn't seen him for a while.

Then off home.
Walked 6.8 miles

Ken was out this morning with Edd, they have breakfast
and then go to the auction.  I've mentioned before that they do this
most Friday's.  Today Ken came home with a bunch of jigsaw puzzles.
All these for $4.
I like to do them during the winter and it looks like now I'll have
enough of them to keep me busy.
I don't start until the first snow, not flurries but the first snow
that sticks on the ground.
I'm sure some of the puzzles will have pieces missing but some are brand new.

In the afternoon we went to Shop and Save to pick up a few things,
one of them being ice cream!!

I have a needlepoint of a lighthouse that I started a few years ago.
I put it aside and haven't worked on it for a long time.
Today I got it out and started it again.
I hope this time I will finish it!!

Hope you had a good day and you made it a happy one.

I liked the picture showing the pond ... as you say, maybe Mr Duck does go over there at some time during the day.

Lovely lot of puzzles, which should keep you busy.

I love lighthouses - hope you may get on well with your needlepoint of a lighthouse.

All the best Jan

Oh, the poor duck! Still trying to get an appointment. My husband loved puzzles. I just don't have the patience for them. I hope you show off your needlepoint light house when it's finished.

My mom would be unable to leave those puzzles alone until the first snow! She loves them too!

Hi Karen, we just arrived home from our morning walk. It was 22 degrees and the sun was just coming up as we set out. A little colder than you were!
Lovely photo of the pond.
Do the people in the doctors office feed the little duck? Hopefully he does go over to the pond.
What a great lot of puzzles you have. I am the same way with books.
Take care.

When me and my husbandwere dating, we would sit and do puzzles for hours. It was fun and we would do a lot of talking and laughing. I should get another one to do, it may keep me off the internet so much. Hmmm yes,I think ill buy one today.
