Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Good Fences

Linking up with Good Fences this week.
Happy Trails is along the right of this lane.
🍂     🍂     🍂     🍂
44 degrees this morning as I headed out the door for my morning walk.
A bit cloudy at first but then the sun came out and was sunny all day.
A bit of a wind out there too.

Left a bit earlier than usual at 6:15 because I had to leave the house by 9:00
and wanted to give myself some extra time so I didn't have to rush around.

I walked around both of the cemeteries and the ball park loop first and then continued all around town.

The woman that walks and turns around when she sees me coming was out walking today and again she turned around and went the other way.

Kathy was walking this morning but I didn't see her, just her car.

Funny thing, the duck from yesterday was STILL by the door
at the doctors office.  He just steps out of the way when someone
goes in or out of the door.  Seems to have made his home there.
Wonder how long he will stick around!!

Walked 6 miles
🚶     🚶     🚶     🚶
Left the house at 9:00 this morning because it was
Fingerprints day at church.
We were there from 9:30 till 3:30.
16 of us worked and we got 3,982 Romans books done.

Enjoyed the book club meeting last evening.
Everyone had the same opinion about the book that I did,
it was okay, but nothing special.
The book was,  Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier.

Next months book is Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf
and I read it yesterday afternoon.
Just a small, easy read with only 165 pages.
Once started reading it, I couldn't put it down.

That's it for today.
A happy day to you.

  6. Your photo of the fence is wonderful Karen. We have had very strong winds for the last day. The leaves are piled high in our side yard!

  8. Hi Happyone, Love that first picture of the road by Happy Trails. It seems so different than most of your area, but beautiful all the same. Also enjoyed the photo of the weeds (few days ago) that look like snow is on them. Big smile on that one! Enjoying your closing thoughts! I appreciated your comment about hearing my voice on my recent post. Thank you! Hope you and Ken have a fine weekend ahead!

  9. I cant get my afternoon walks in anymore because by the time I get home from work its dark. I have been hula hooping after dinner and we plan to buy a treadmill or something but that's just not the same. It was 39 degrees here this morning. It suppose to be in the upper 70s by the afternoon.
Love the fence photo. Looks peaceful.

  10. loved hearing about the duck. We once had one show up in our neighborhood who was absolutely fantastic. He/she would come tearing in when we started our hose sprinkler going, to stand under it to get a shower. I'm hoping your neighborhood duck stays a while.
