Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Sunflowers

Sunflowers in my yard.  There are still a lot of them that haven't bloomed yet.  Some like this one has many flowers on the one stalk.

64 degrees this morning under cloudy misty skies.  It didn't rain while I walked but felt like it would at any moment.

Walked around town up and down all the streets, around both cemeteries and the ball park loop.

Walked a little ways down towards Happy Trails too before turning around and heading back home.

Saw Kathy out there walking too but in the distance.

Walked 6.3 miles.
Not a very good coin month during August, just 35 cents.
3 dimes and 5 pennies.
Maybe September will be better.

Today was house cleaning day, at least in the morning.

The last half of the day was sunny and in the 70's.
In the afternoon I went outside and did some more weeding.
This time I weeded the garden next to the house on the front right side.

Still getting cucumbers and zucchini and brought a another batch over to my neighbor Connie because I still have some in my refrigerator.

Tonight I made Manicotti for supper.
This is one of my favorite meals but I don't make it that often.
I don't know why because it is very easy to make.

Later I'm going to make some more weave-it squares,
watch something from Netflix and have my evening snack.
Just a little ice cream tonight but it will be atop
Rhubarb Strawberry Cobble.
Life is Good.
🍰
A happy day to you.

I was going to skip my ice cream tonight, but you just gave me permission to have some so I can experience that "life is good!" feeling!
I'm sending you an e-mail in a few minutes.

Yum! I have an apple pie setting on the stove waiting for the oven to get up to temperature. It's my birthday, so I'm having a big piece of pie and ice cream. Staying home safe and sound with my hubby watching movies . . . it's a simple life we live, but there is no place I would rather be than home safe with him :)
Happy Labor Day Weekend!
Connie :)
P.S. Your sunflowers are beautiful!

Beauty is seen in the sunflowers as well as in the misty/foggy scene.

our sunflowers are very pretty. I planted some, but they are a smaller variety.
Manicotti sounds good. I haven't had it in years.
Have a wonderful weekend.

The sunflowers are so pretty. I bet you get a lot of birds. Wow, good thing you don't have to live from those random coins!
