Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Sunflowers in my yard.  There are still a lot of them that haven't bloomed yet.  Some like this one has many flowers on the one stalk.

64 degrees this morning under cloudy misty skies.  It didn't rain while I walked but felt like it would at any moment.

Walked around town up and down all the streets, around both cemeteries and the ball park loop.

Walked a little ways down towards Happy Trails too before turning around and heading back home.

Saw Kathy out there walking too but in the distance.

Walked 6.3 miles.
Not a very good coin month during August, just 35 cents.
3 dimes and 5 pennies.
Maybe September will be better.

Today was house cleaning day, at least in the morning.

The last half of the day was sunny and in the 70's.
In the afternoon I went outside and did some more weeding.
This time I weeded the garden next to the house on the front right side.

Still getting cucumbers and zucchini and brought a another batch over to my neighbor Connie because I still have some in my refrigerator.

Tonight I made Manicotti for supper.
This is one of my favorite meals but I don't make it that often.
I don't know why because it is very easy to make.

Later I'm going to make some more weave-it squares,
watch something from Netflix and have my evening snack.
Just a little ice cream tonight but it will be atop
Rhubarb Strawberry Cobble.
Life is Good.
A happy day to you.

Prunella - Yes, that is corn but not for people.  It is feed for the animals.

  1. I was going to skip my ice cream tonight, but you just gave me permission to have some so I can experience that "life is good!" feeling!
I'm sending you an e-mail in a few minutes.

  2. Yum! I have an apple pie setting on the stove waiting for the oven to get up to temperature. It's my birthday, so I'm having a big piece of pie and ice cream. Staying home safe and sound with my hubby watching movies . . . it's a simple life we live, but there is no place I would rather be than home safe with him :)
    Happy Labor Day Weekend!
    Connie :)
