Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Wednesday

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿

70 degrees again this morning and it was cloudy and felt like rain but it never did.   Not much of a breeze either but still not as humid as the last two days.

I started out walking up the two hills behind my house and then walked through town, up Barn Sale a little ways and then down toward HT.  Continued back to town, and around the cemeteries and the ball park loop and then home.

Didn't see any people out walking, but saw a bunch of rabbits, a couple of deer and lots of geese down by the town pond.

Walking down a road where there are pine trees along it,  there was a squirrel up in one of the trees and it sure seemed like it was throwing pine cones at me. : )

Walked 6.4 miles.

Ken left in the morning to help a friend with his tractor.  While he was gone I did a couple of things inside and then went outside to do a little work.
As you can see in the picture we started to put some crushed rock around the area by the heat pump.  I've never liked those 5 bushes by the railing which have stickers.
So I decided to dig them up and throw them away.  They all came up pretty easy and I felt so good that I was able to do it by myself.  I went up to HT with Ken in the afternoon and we got some more crushed rock.  Not enough to finish the job but we have a good start.
I am going to plant some kind of flowers along the railing.  This is what it looks like now with the sticker bushes gone.
I was sitting up at the back of our property cooling off in the shade and snapped a picture from where I was sitting.
Off I go now to get supper started, spaghetti and salad, and then we are off to mid week service at church.
Then later I'll be having some more of that ice cream. : )

Hope your day was a happy one.

Here's some daisies to brighten your day.

I do love long summer days. Short days in winter is so depressing.

Makes you feel good to get a big job done all by yourself, like digging up those bushes. Flowers will be so pretty there. Sure wish that great big barn was on my property. :)

Pretty daisies! I have some bushes around the house where I live that I would dearly love to dig up. Unfortunately, it's not my house. :( We have lots of squirrels in and around my house. Some will chatter to me while they are up in a tree. They seem to think that my dog and I are invading their territory! Have a great day.

Great barn in your top photo! After a couple cool morning walks we are back into the heat and humidity. Don't care for it!
Great job done on the sticker (we call them pricker) bushes.
Love the daises. Mine are just about done.

Beautiful daises! Gosh you saw so many different wildlife on your walk.
The rest of the area out the back is taking shape nicely.
Have a wonderful weekend Happyone :)

What a beautiful old barn.

Love the picture of the old barn with all the different colours and textures. I like what you are doing with your rocks (I'm partial to stones) and you're being eco-minded using resources from your own land. There's a special satisfaction in creating a beautiful design using the resources to hand.

Yes, I like when I don't need help. : )
The barn is at the edge of town and you can barely see it until you walk up the drive.

I've let people dig up a bunch of daisies out of my yard. I have so many and they grow like crazy. Come on over and get some. : )

Yes, I felt good being able to get it done on my own.

I like cool mornings better too.
My daisies bloom all summer. I dead head them and they keep blooming.

It is so nice to have a yard to do stuff to. : )

It sits right at the edge of town a little way up a drive.

You are so right in what you say. Thank you.
While I was digging up the bushes I though of you. You would have done it by yourself too. : )

Beautiful old barn in that top photo. I'm glad you took those bushes out. It doesn't make any sense to have prickly bushes right by a handrail, does it? :) Good job.
