A spring day in Garrett county

Fresh hay for breakfast
Then he stopped eating and looked up at me.

This morning brought along with it some more snow.  I left the house right at 7:00 and it was 30 degrees with snow flurries, wind, and icy patches.  I'm back to wearing all my winter layers of clothing.  The sun did come out a couple of times for a few seconds just to tease me.

I had to watch where I walked because of the ice.  There was ice under the snow here at one of the cemeteries and I turned around here because it was pretty slippery.
I walked up and down the main roads in town, up Sale Barn a ways and down toward Happy Trails.  Not icy along those roads.
No people out and only a few cars.
A few rabbits hopping about.  They can sure move fast when they want to!!  Only birds I saw out today were crows.

Walked 6 miles.
Found some coins all in one spot.  1 dime, 3 nickels, and 3 pennies. : )

Later in the morning it started snowing hard and it looked like a blizzard out there.
Ken went up to HT for the day but I stayed home.  He played around with tractor, a bit too cold to work on the cabin.  Will be nice when it warms up so we can finish the cabin this year.  I'm looking forward to getting the inside of it done and having fun decorating it.
A spring day in the back yard
Zoomed in on the cardinal from inside the house.  Doesn't his red color pop in the snow?
I got the rest of my house work done for the week.  Was going to tackle some more kitchen cabinet painting but just couldn't get excited about doing it, though I do want to get it done soon.

I sat by the fire and read for part of the afternoon. : )

It snowed all day and we got about 4 inches,  but by the end of the day we saw some blue sky.  Wonder what tomorrow will bring.

A happy day to you.
happyone : )

  3. Hello, That first cow photo is funny. The cow looks like it is climbing up onto the top of the hay. We had some snow yesterday too, I hope that was the end of winter. Great quote. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!

  6. I love the cows, except I am afraid of them. That big boy with that stern look would have scared me. :) Can't believe you got 4 more inches of snow!

  7. Beautiful photos. Can't believe you walked willingly 6 miles on that ice and snow! I use to walk 3 miles per day, but have gotten out of practice. You make me want to get back out there again.

  9. I think the cow was just checking you weren't coming to take his hay ... it's mine he is saying!

I think you did well with your walking, you need to take extra care on ice and snow.

    All the best Jan

  11. The sweetest hay is obviously at the top of the bale!! Great photos. I can't fathom that you are still getting snow. It seems so late in the season for snow?
