Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Day Twenty-Six of Thanks

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving
 Giving Thanks Day Post Twenty-Six
Roads

I am thankful for all the roads to travel on.
Its pretty amazing when you think about it.
We just hop in the car and and we can go anywhere
on these black topped trails.
How quick and easy roads make it for us is to go where we want to.
We don't think about it,
we just get in the car and go.
I'm thankful for the people that made the roads.
Imagine what it was like cutting roads through the mountains,
or building bridges over rivers.
Roads make it easy for us to travel to see friends and family.
So today as we travel along the roads lets be thankful for them.

Be safe and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Yes, roads surely are important and something we may not think about a lot, but surely something to be grateful for! I also love that you are thankful for pizza! Me too. I never met a pizza I didn't like! ;-) You and Ken have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am thankful for you and your blog! Truly I am. Have a good one.

So true Karen. As a kid my family and I loved to travel by car. We went all over the States and parts of Canada. So many interesting places to visit.

Hope Thanksgiving was great. I think of that some days, the roads that is, when I am stuck in traffic, how even a 4 hour trip to go 100 miles is amazing when it would have taken 5-6 very difficult and dangerous days 200 years ago.

I have to say that I have never thought to be grateful for roads. I do know that I have griped about them enough.
