Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Day Twenty-Seven of Thanks

Giving Thanks Post Day Twenty-Seven
My Dads

I am very thankful that God gave me the Dad that he did.
I spent so many happy hours with him. : )
His was the kind of Dad that always had time for me.
He loved to drive and we spent many hours going for rides in the car,
and I am thankful for every one.
All those ice cream cones we stopped to eat, I am thankful for
and the times we stopped at a playground somewhere
so I could swing on the swings.
My Dad and I went for walks together too. : )
My Dad was one of the most patient men I know,
and slow to anger.
For that I am thankful. : )
He told lots of corny father jokes
but I laughed at all of them.
He died at home with me in 1999
and I'm thankful that the last words
I said to him were,
"I love you Daddy."

In 1970 my Mom married Eddie,
and so I have a step-dad too.
I am so thankful that God blessed me with
not one great Dad but two of them.  : )
Dad has treated me like a daughter
from the time I met him
and for that I am thankful.
He is a kind, caring, and loving Dad.
How thankful I am.

I have been blessed with one more Dad,
my Father-in-law.
How thankful I am to have known him and
to be part of his family.
 What a character he was. : )
He used to tell Ken,
"You got a good woman there."
I am thankful to him for taking the time to
teach Ken so many things.
I am sad to say he died in 1992.
but he lives on in our memories. : )

I am truly thankful for these three men.
happyone : )

  12. Gorgeous photo! I think this is the first time I have heard about Ken's dad. What a blessing to have three wonderful fathers.

I meant to say earlier that I am happy to read that your mom is doing so well. God must have done a healing work to have the temporary fix be doing so wonderfully.
