Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

No walk today

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
I didn't wake up till after 7:00 this morning which is unusual for me.  We wanted to get to HT early so I skipped my walk today.  We were up at HT at 8:30.  Before we left I washed the sheets and hung them out to dry.

Ken put the Ondura on the front part of the roof which is the overhang over our porch.  He was quite high up there.
I was happy when he was finished and was down on the ground safely once again.
No sooner was the roof finished when it started raining.  We sat inside listening to the rain on the roof.  Great sound. : )  I did think about my sheets on the line getting wet though.

We came home lunch time and when we got back in town (just 3 miles away) we noticed that it never did rain in town so my sheets were dry and smelling great.  : )

We have been working so much on the cabin that we have not been doing any work on the stone patio at back so we worked on the for a while this afternoon.  Then the rain came to town.  Had a thunder shower and the plants were all happy to have a drink.

At the 'sale' on Friday Ken bought a box of stuff for 50 cents and down in the bottom of it was this We are Blessed.  I cleaned it up and put a lace bow on it.
I have now finished cutting out 3 of the 4 sheets of flannel characters.  I think I'll be done way before the 2 week time frame.  I wanted to have them all finished so I could bring them to church later but there is no way.  I have to give my hands a rest.

Ken is making our supper now as I type this.  He making sausage and pepper - one of our favorites.  It's smelling pretty good here right about now.  I'm going to go check it out now.
After supper we will head out to church.

Hope your day has been a happy one and you smiled often.

Eileen - not sure what is going on the outside yet.  Thinking about slab wood but not sure yet.

HT looks good! I bet that was fun listening to the rain.
I hung my sheets out, too!

Wow! HT looks great! I'd be nervous with my hubby up that high, though. He has wisely limited such heights the past few years. So thankful your sheets on the line were spared that early shower! Yes, cutting out those flannel board figures would be hard on one's hands.

Sounds like it was a wonderful day. I would be very nervous too seeing my hubby up that high. Life IS good! :)

Rain on the new roof--I imagine it sounded delightful. Glad it held off until you got your sheets off the line. It's nice to find a treasure in a mixed lot box. The lace makes a fine addition to it. Dinner sounds aromatic and yummy.

Sausage and peppers cooking smell so good.

Boy, Ken is high up on that shot. That would make me quite nervous. But I am sure he's careful.

Cutting out lots of stuff with scissors is quite hard on the hands. You need a break. THe cabin looks wonderful! I love that porch roof. So glad your hubby was safe up there. It looks scary.
