60 degrees this morning when I left on my walk. It was pretty foggy in places when I walked around the Farm Loop. I saw Joyce walking down the road towards town as I was walking up to the FL road. We commented on how it was starting to be darker in the mornings now.
A flock of Canada geese flew passed over head in their V formation honking the whole time. They were low enough for me to hear their wings too which is a cool sound.
The sun tried hard to shine through the clouds and eventually it did. Here it comes peeking out from behind the mountain.
I spotted this huge striped gourd at the edge of Farmer Bill's field. It was surrounded by large pumpkins that were a pale beige color. This gourd was huge - I would say about 2 feet from end to end. I've never seen one like this.
When I got back to town and walked a loop around it. The cute little red house that I like that was for sale might have been sold. The sign is down and a window was open. Didn't see any activity around it though.
Walked 5.4 miles.

We took a day off from working at HT and around the house and spent the day in La Vale. Looked in a few stores and did our food shopping in Martins.I made the eggplant for supper this evening and Ken helped out too. He is better at slicing the eggplant in even slices than I am. Our friends weren't able to join us this time but I did make them a little one to try and walked it over to their house this evening after we ate ours.
It was delicious and loved the fact that it was made with eggplants from my garden. : )
Hope your day has been a happy one and you smiled often.

Robin - Yes, I did the dishes - I ALWAYS do the dishes no matter who cooks. We don't have a dish washer and it is a chore that I like to do. : ) I know I'm a bit crazy. : )

Your eggplant casserole looks so delicious, i love the photo of the three colored Morning Glories on the fence, so beautiful!.
I am glad that the red house is being sold, empty houses seem so sad, especially when they have been empty for a while!
Have a happy and blessed labor Day weekend.
Blessings,
Sue
Good for you, doing dishes by hand. That's so therapeutic.
Aren't morning glories crazy? They have wound around everything our front garden!
That eggplant Parmesan looks so good! I haven't made that for a long time - maybe I should get an eggplant and try it again! I love the flowers and the huge gourd. I love harvest time - means fall is coming! I have had a busy week, so will need to catch up but it looks like your cabin is coming right along! We are going to look at the mountain property we are interested in this long weekend. We are very excited! Will let you know what we decide!
Good morning, I love the pretty morning glories and the sun peeking out of the fog. Your eggplant parmesan looks delicious. Now, I want to make again. The gourd is huge! Have a happy Friday and weekend ahead!
Love your photo of the morning glories next to the white picket fence. I adore morning glories, but failed to plant them this year.
The photo of the sun peeking out is also lovely.
That is a giant gourd. Does Farmer Bill sell his pumpkins and gourds?
My mouth is now watering for eggplant parmesan. I agree that it is so satisfying to eat a meal that you not only cooked, but also grew.
Great photos indeed.
You replied to a friend that you're a little crazy. Just want you to know, it's a good kind of crazy! MJ
Your casserole looks great! We have been having lots of fog in the mornings too.
Lovely verse about hugs!
Love the morning glories shrouded in fog. I'm sure the neighbors enjoyed dinner.
Those morning glories are beyond gorgeous. What a photo!
Making a meal with food you've grown yourself is so satisfying! Not that I've done it any time recently.
The eggplant casserole looks yummy. I bet they enjoyed it. I've seen two flocks of Canada geese flying over our farm. They seemed to be headed the wrong way, definitely NOT south! I've never heard the flapping of their wings. That would be quite interesting!
