The moth with eyes - A Polyphemus Moth - tip to tip about 5 inches long.

This morning it was 64 degrees with a breeze which kept it nice and cool. A mix of sun and clouds. My walk yesterday the temperature was 56. Maybe that is why I was able to get such a close up of the moth above.Walked to the post office first to mail off a card and then walked all around town up and down all the streets including around the cemeteries.
Passed by the day care center where the big friendly orange cat lives.
While the sun was shining it started raining big drops. It only lasted a minute or so, just long enough to make a speckled pattern on the road. The bunny and mourning dove stayed together long enough for me to get a picture of them before they hopped and flew away.
Didn't see any one else out and about.
I walked 5.5 miles.
No coins today but yesterday I found a dime.

After a pancake breakfast we headed up to Happy Trails. Just stayed up in the morning so didn't get that much done - part of the side wall. This corner will be the kitchen area in the cabin. As you can see I'll have a window which will be over the sink.Got some laundry done in the afternoon. It started raining again so I had to hang them in my drying room. Cleaned out the mess from underneath the kitchen sink. I keep all my cleaning products under there with rags for cleaning and dusting. I plan on using up the cleaning products that I have and then will only use my new Norwex stuff. I guess I'm too cheap to just throw them away. : ) Will keep and use some of the stuff like the TP cleaner.
The sun has come late this afternoon again and Ken is outside now getting the grill started. We have the old fashioned kind that uses charcoal. Supper tonight will be hot sausages and baked beans.
So that's been my day so far.
Hope your day has been a happy one.
happyone : )

Kerri - Thanks for the identification of the butterfly. Happy Trails is now 21 acres.
Linda - We hope to have the roof and outside of the cabin done by winter. We can always finish up the inside when the weather turns cold. We will work on the cabin as much as we can. It has been so rainy lately that it is hard to get the work done faster.

Beautiful photos. Love the moth and the kitty.
You are making great progress on your cabin despite the weather.
Great quote. We all should live life like that sometimes.
Wow - you are making so much progress on your cabin! I love it! I've been away on vacation for a couple of weeks and am trying to do a bit of "catch-up" blog reading now. See you again soon. Have a great week!
Wonderful animal photos indeed. Nice of you to share. Greetings!
The moth is beautiful, such pretty colors. And I love the cute kitty and the bunny! It is nice to see more progress on the cabin! Enjoy your day and the new week ahead!
Such cute little friends you met on your walk today. The moth photo is really nice.
It's fun to see the progress you are making on the cabin. I can hardly wait to see the little kitchen when it's all done.
I would feel the same way about using up the cleaning products. Waste not, want not, as my mother said so often :).
Beautiful cat! We only use a charcoal grill, too. We had a gas one but we just don't think the taste compares with a charcoal grill. Great progress on the cabin.
That moth is really quite something! The orange kitty has the sweetest face...unique!
Love that moth! Pretty kitty, too! Under the sink! You deserve a medal for tackling that area! That seems to be where everything lands that doesn't have another spot!:-)
Beautiful moth!
That moth is beautiful, I've never seen one before.
I'm pleased to hear your mother is coming along well, slow but sure.

I can't believe the bunny and dove were so still for their picture-taking. Congrats on your land purchase. That is exciting. Maybe you'll have your own camp ground someday. Spranzaville.
The butterfly is very unusual.
That is an AWESOME moth!!!
What an unusual moth. Definitely and eye-catcher. That kitty has a fluffy tail! A window over the sink is always nice. I can't imagine not being able to look outside while working there. My daughter sold me on Norwex with a demonstration. It's nice she learned about it around the time our granddaughter was diagnosed as chemically sensitive.
I've noticed many more bunnies around here than usual. They are in town, in the roads, running across. I'm wondering if our population is exploding. The cabin walls are looking nice. I hope you can get it buttoned up by winter! That moth's name is so odd -- Polyphemus is a cyclops (as you prob. know), so he only had ONE eye. Ah well!
What a beautiful moth!
