Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A long loaf

Farmer George has started harvesting the corn for the animals.

Had no time yesterday for walking or blogging.  A special day at church for a revival.  Guest speakers, good food and music. Great time.  I just love singing the old hymns.  Just wish I could sing!! : )  But I don't think God cares. : )
One of the visitors at church was Ray Witmer who is the director of Country Wide Prison Ministries.  He is where my church gets the names of the prisoners that I write to from.  It was so nice to meet and talk to him.   : )

Back to my early morning walk this morning.  The sunrise today was at 7:13.  It was 50 degrees with some low hanging clouds.  I walked the farm loop and then around town.
When it was still dark, three deer ran out of the woods and across the street.  Also saw a couple of rabbits.  Nice to see the cows out in the field.  I think the barn stays open and the cows can go in and out when they want to.

Didn't see any people out.
I walked 6.2 miles.
During the month of September I found 12 cents - 1 nickel and 7 pennies.

Made a long loaf of bread today in terra cotta bread pan.  I used the bread machine to make the dough and then shaped the loaf and baked it in the oven.  I forgot to oil the pan and the bread stuck to it and was hard to get out.  Managed to get it out pretty much intact though.  We are having guests for dinner on Saturday and this was a test bread.  When I make the loaf of Saturday, I'll remember to oil the pan. : )
Here the loaf sits in the pan cooling.
I read a book called, It's a God Thing, created by Don Jacobson.  It is a bunch of short true stories written by every day people who have had miracles happen to them.  Some big, some small but all amazing.  I shed a few tears reading it.  Excellent Book.  My blogger friend Karen sent me the book.  : )

Hope your day has been a happy one and you smiled often.

October had tremendous possibility.
The summer's oppressive heat was a distant memory,
and the golden leaves promised a world full of beautiful adventures.
They made me believe in miracles.

Three Thankful Things Today
  1.  The smell of bread baking
  2.  October has arrived in all its beauty
  3.  That Jesus died for me and I'll meet Him in heaven one day

Kerri, We hope to start the cabin in the spring.  It will be a small one room cabin and we will be building it ourselves.  We try to do everything we possibly can.

Glad to know that you were doing something enjoyable yesterday. When you everyday bloggers skip a day I start to worry :).
Such pretty fall scenes from your walk.
That is an interesting bread pan. I've never seen one like that. Your loaf looks most impressive.

Beautiful scenery captures, and your bread looks wonderful! It only takes once of not oiling a pan...believe me, I've had that lesson a time or two, as well! :D

That is an interesting bread pan. Did it taste as good as it looks?

We have no carpet of leaves yet so I am thinking you're in a pocket that is a little ahead of us, oddly enough. We are in a pocket that is the last to color up...even southern ME is ahead of us. Weird.

I love Revival meetings...glad that your Sunday was so blessed.

Lovely looking bread. Where did you buy the pan?

Yay! So happy that October is here. My most favorite month of all *smile**.

I'm glad you enjoyed the revival and had a chance to meet and talk with Ray Witner. How cool is that?
Your long loaf of bread looks delicious. I'm sure dinner will be a great success Saturday evening.

We may finally get some rain (on Friday) and some cooler weather here. This week, it feels more like Summer.. I'm SO ready for Fall.. We have a tiny bit of color so far ---but not too much... Oh how I love Fall.

I love smelling fresh bread cooking so much... I'm sure your bread will taste good --no matter how much it 'stuck' to the pan... YUM.....

I wondered what you were going to do when it comes to building your cabin at Happy Trails... Glad you are still going to do it...

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

hi Karen / Happy One! Great photos of the road and trees and bread and all that you shared. Thanks for picking/selecting the shoes.

I have missed you so. I tried to get to you yesterday but I ran out of gas/energy.

I'm half way through radiation and I am excited because my rest got me back on track and the rest I took was so needed. Soooooooooo glad to be back. ♥, Renae

What a cool loaf pan! Have a fun dinner tomorrow with your friends.

I think to God, every voice of a good-hearted person sounds beautiful in song. Art
