Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

An odd potato

A foggy morning and I saw this picture
❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
The temperature was 50 degrees and it was foggy this morning when I walked.

First went to the post office and dropped a few things in the mail slot.  Then walked down the main road just past the turn off to HT and then turned around and headed back to town.  Walked around both of the cemeteries and stopped to have a little chat with Lena.

By then the sun was shining and some of the leaves are just breathtaking, especially against the blue sky.
I walked 6.2 miles.

Many of you asked about the long bread pan.  I've had it for years and years, and I'm not positive but I think I picked it up in one of the kitchen stores they used to have in the mall.  The kind that have all sorts of neat stuff that you would love to have but don't need and probably won't use once you get it home. : )  I've only used it a couple of times in the past but it will be something I will use more often now.

The time has rolled around again to get my hair colored.  Hard to believe it's been 6 weeks since I had my hair cut.  Sherry just trimmed a very little bit off the very back.  I'm letting it grow out to have a short layered bob that goes to the end of my chin.

Next on the agenda was to go food shopping at Walmart.
I spotted this potato and just had to take a picture of it.  I've never seen a heart shaped potato before.
On the way home we stopped at KFC and had lunch which will be our supper today.  We will have lunch for supper.  I think I just might have another breakfast and this time have pancakes with fresh strawberries.

Mowed the lawn this afternoon.  I'm thinking that it might be the last time this year.  Did a little weeding in the front too.

Today has been sunny and bright and hope your day is too.
A happy day to you.

Autumn burned brightly,
a running flame through the mountains,
a torch flung to the trees.

Changing things slightly for a while. Instead of three grateful things I'm going to have,
Three Things That Made Me Smile Today.
  1. Seeing Ken wave to me at the front window when I walked up the driveway
  2.  Seeing a heart shaped potato
  3.  My neighbor Harold and I waving to each other as we mowed our lawns

  1. Gorgeous color on those trees! We have nothing like that here at this point.

I've seen some oddly shaped potatoes, but never one with a heart shape as clear as the one you show.

I could eat breakfast three times a day! Breakfast choices happen to be among my favorite foods.

    Have a great evening!

  2. Love the colorful trees and the foggy scene.. The heart shaped potato is a neat find.. Glad you had a great day. Enjoy your evening!

  3. Your walk is beautiful! I love it when I find funny shaped foods. Your potato should be called heart healthy. lol

  4. I love the vibrant autumn colors you captured this morning. We've had mostly browns so far -- it's been very dry for the past couple of months. I also like your foggy morning photo. Pancakes with crest strawberries sounds like a great evening meal.

  5. Fall is my favorite season and you captured beautifully with your photos!

  6. What majestic vibrant colors on those trees. I'm so glad you were able to capture them at the right time. That heart potato is intriguing! :)

  7. That first shot is so neat and would look great at Theresa's Good Fences. - Wow you do have some gorgeous fall color there. Neat things to make you smile. The heart shaped potato was a fun find.

  8. I love the colorful leaves against the clear blue sky! What a cool potato - perfect for a Valentine Day dinner!

Any day that starts and ends with breakfast is a pretty good one in my book! :^) Then again, most days are pretty good.

  9. LOVE your foggy pic ...and that potato is cool!

  10. I love the fence shot. It looks like you are going to have a very colorful autumn!

  11. Very cute potato. Almost too cute to eat.
Good idea on the three things that made you smile list. I'm looking forward to reading it.
    Have a nice weekend.

  12. That is an odd potato! The fall colors are striking. It's nice to have breakfast for dinner and such. :)
