Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Frozen snow

34 degrees here this morning as I walked out the door.  It was cloudy and windy and I started off walking up toward Happy Trails.
I didn't go all the way because I didn't feel like walking up one more steep hill but I did walk two miles in that direction before heading back to town.

The farm on the left just before town is pretty hilly and when I looked down from the main road I saw a few cows down there.  I zoomed in on this cow and her calf.
As I was getting back to town frozen snow started falling.  It was little round balls and at times it came down pretty hard and when walking in to the wind those little pellets hit my face.
Better that than rain though, at least I didn't get wet.
I saw one man out raking stones out of the grass back into his driveway.  That's it, no one else out.

I walked 6 miles.

We have been meaning to make appointments at the dentist since we moved here and this afternoon finally got around to doing that.  We walked to the dentist which is just a block away from our house (right next to ShearDelight where I get my hair done) which was recommended by the people who used to live in our house.  We got some paperwork to fill out and our appointments are on April 1.  I really liked our old dentist a LOT and hope this new one will be good too.

I spent a lot of time playing around with a new look for this blog.  Changed it yesterday but didn't really like it.  Today I tried all different templates and colors and then finally ended up with this neat, simple, and uncluttered look.  I wanted to put up a new header picture for spring but will have to wait until it really is spring and not just a date on the calendar.

I finished reading book number 12 so far this year.  It was a Linda Castillo book called Sworn to Silence.  It was a good one, a real page turner.  It's a murder mystery and quite scary at times.  It is graphic describing the murders which are quite brutal so some of you may not like it.

We are going to Brenda's for pizza and a salad tonight and I've been looking forward to that all day.

Hope you are enjoying the first day of spring and that where you live it actually feels like spring.

spring is sure to follow.

It is a lovely first day of spring here, sunny and in the 50s!

That Proverb speaks truth, but it is often tiresome waiting for winter to be through.:)

I could be excited about pizza night!

How wonderful that you were able to walk outside!

It looked so cold on your walk! Glad to see the cows. We were 70 here in GA on the first day of spring

What a sweet Mom and baby cow! :). I love your new look here. Your photos really stand out.

I've read a couple of Linda Castillo's books and have liked them. But you're right, the first one of hers i read had a couple of shocking, violent scenes. Now i'm used to the way she writes though, and i love a good mystery!

The question is... will you be taking chocolate chip cookies to the new dentist? If so, I predict you will become instant friends. I can imagine your old dentist misses your visits.
Such a sweet picture of the cow and her calf. Your walking conditions didn't sound too pleasant this morning, but I admire the way you don't let it stop you from enjoying your walk.

Dental appointments are always a good thing to get out of the way. Seems like we just find a dentist we like and our insurance changes and we have to change dentists. Josh had a dentist appointment this week for a filling, then the dentist told him he has only one wisdom tooth and that needs to come out, so on to the oral surgeon we went this afternoon. Wisdom tooth will come out next week! Lots of dr./dentist appointments this week. Your book does sound good. I like a good mystery, but not too much violence. Have a good one.

You have a lot of variety in your day, which is nice. Most of my days have a lot set in stone because of work, so I try to do little things when I can on my breaks and lunch. Good luck with the new dentist. That is always hard when one moves, to find all new medical services. Art
