Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

More snow flurries

35 degrees again with periods of frozen snow just like yesterday morning only this time there was no wind which was nice.  I wore too many clothes and was warm.

I walked around town.
Walked around the cemeteries in town too and also the path around the ball park.  There is woods behind the ball park with a little stream and I walked back there.  Saw this trail and thought I'd discovered a another place to walk along but it dead ended just up ahead.
A quiet morning and didn't see anyone else out.
Saw a couple of bunnies and LOTS of robins all over the place.
I walked 6.2 miles.

By mid morning the snow was coming down pretty hard. We went food shopping at Walmart, but we went to the one down in LaVale this time.  Had to make a stop in Grantsville which is on the way.
Here we are driving down the road in the snow.
30 miles away down the mountain in LaVale it was raining and 45 degrees and eventually it stopped and the sun came out.  We stopped at Ruby Tuesday down there for lunch and picked one of their 'small plate' items off the menu.  I had the spicy baked fish and Ken had the steak strips.  Both came with a small serving of mashed potatoes and broccoli and was very good and a nice small portion perfect for lunch.

On the way home as we got closer the temperature dipped back down in the 30's but the snow had stopped and you could hardly tell that it had snowed and now as I look out of the window the sun is shining.

Just having sandwiches for supper tonight.  I made meatloaf the other day and we will have that.  I love cold meatloaf sandwiches on home made bread.

Till then I'll read some blogs and then continue reading my book.

A happy day to you.

Today's Three Happy Things
  1. No wind this morning while I walked
  2. Lunch out with Ken
  3. The snow didn't amount to anything and the sun came out

  1. Sounds like another pearl of a day! There will be a few fits and starts, but tulips and daffodils will bloom again.

  2. A very nice day. Always fun to shop and go out for lunch with hubby. Hope you have a great weekend.

  3. Bet you will be glad when spring really gets to your area. I know that I will --even though our winters are never as harsh as yours...

Glad you all got out for lunch at Ruby Tuesdays... I get coupons from them alot--but we seldom get there. That small lunch sounds good.

The meatloaf sammiches also sound yummy.

    Have a good weekend.

  4. Still watching for the first robin here.

  5. I can't believe how much snow you've gotten this winter. I love the new layout.

  6. With all of the robins you've been seeing, spring can't be too far off.
I like how a lot of restaurants are offering the smaller portion size now. Your selection sounded yummy, except for the spicy part. I'm not a big fan of spice, but that's another thing the restaurants seem to do a lot of. Oh well.
    Have a great weekend.

  7. What a good day you had! I would not be brave enough to start for the grocery in a snow storm. It's so good the snow gave you no problems.

Hello my friend.
