Oh my, was it ever windy this morning on my walk. At times it blew me right along. Once the sun rose there was a mixture of sun and clouds and the nice thing about this walk was that it was 44 degrees. I listened to the wind making different sounds. Through the pine trees it made a swishing sound. Through the leafless trees I could hear the branches click clacking against each other and some rubbed against each other making a spooky moaning sound. At other times the branches sounded like a squeaky hinge that needed some oil.
Spring is making an appearance around here finally. I don't know what kind of flowers these are but they are the first blooms I've seen.
The farm ponds are not frozen anymore.
This one is on Farmer Bill's farm.
I walked the farm loop, the two cemeteries in town and around the loop behind the ball park. No cars at all passed me on the farm loop and didn't see one until after I walked the two cemeteries.
One man was out walking his dog in town.
I saw a Red Winged Black bird and more of those Robins. Two geese were on the town pond and some of the chickens at the farm were outside walking around the farm. Not to be confused the Lone Chicken and friends who live in town.
I walked 6.7 miles.
My walk is up and down hills and my pedometer had recorded it was like walking up 1,240 stairs!!

I made French toast for breakfast today - haven't had that for quite a while and it was a nice treat.
We went to Oakland and walked around town. Stopped to look in a couple of antique stores and I got a few goodies.
Some more blue plates to hang above the kitchen cabinets.
I've been looking for an old sugar bowl to sit on the counter by Ken's coffee maker to put the powdered creamer in. Found one today. Didn't need these measuring cups but I really like them so got them too. They look old but aren't.
It has turned out to be a beautiful sunny day with temperatures in the 50's. So nice in fact that Ken washed his car. I was going to wash mine too but didn't really feel like it. I went outside to dig up some rose bushes and there was Ken washing MY car after washing his. Isn't he nice. : )
There are LOTS of knock out roses around the yard planted by the previous owners. The ones out the back door are planted in the perfect spot for my herb garden so I'm digging them up. This afternoon I dug up 6 with four more to go. Ken said he would drive the tractor down from HT and dig them up but I like digging around in the yard. I am anxious to get an herb garden started. I've never had one before.
So nice to have it actually feel like spring today.
Hope your enjoying your Saturday.
