Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

We finished

The sun was shining this morning and it looked like a perfect day for an outside walk.  Only thing the temperature was 12 below zero, so it was another basement walk for me.  I walked almost 6 miles.

I don't usually listen to audio books because I prefer to hold a book to read it. When I read I get really involved in my book and live with the characters I'm reading about.  When I'm driving or doing anything else I can't seem to follow the story.

That being said walking loops in the basement was the perfect time for an audio book.  I got caught up in the story and wasn't in the basement anymore.  I was in the story and the time went by fast and before I knew it I had listened to the first disc and my walk was over.
I'm listening to The Inn at Rose Harbor by Debbie Macomber.

We finished the puzzle by 12:00 last night so didn't get to bed too late.  Usual bedtime is 11:30.
After lunch I put a bunch of layers on and went outside.  Just had to get out in the air for a little while.  I made a path out to the bird feeders and put their seed out.  Then I just walked around the yard for a while.  When I see all this white snow out there I just have to put footprints in it. : )  It's pretty slow going walking in the snow.
The locals say that this is a normal amount of snow that we are having, just the temperatures are way below what they usually are.  The normal high for the day should be in the 20's, not 0.

Hope your staying warm and your day is a happy one.

I was wondering how long you might have stayed up finishing the puzzle! I like your quote. Your writing is a blessing to me because it lifts me up every time I read the happy thoughts you have. Have a wonderful, warm evening.

Good idea to listen to a book when you walk inside :)

I'm glad you were pleased with the audio book. Debbie Macomber is a good author for giving mental images to readers. I have enjoyed her fiction as well as her non-fiction.

Six miles is a great walk! :) I have read several of Debbie Macomber's books, but not the one you mention. I will have to look for it. Stir Fry sounds really yummy! Enjoy!

Yay for a book that took you away! Probably you are a haptic learner, reader or anything. (Just means that you like to be on the move. My grandson is this way as was his dad before him. He can recite his spelling words to beat the band as long as he can move.)

I'm sure ready for this cold wave to be over. You know how glad I am that you're enjoying your audio book. I'm really enjoying my current one :-)

What a great puzzle!

Your walking in the basement while playing the audio book is a great idea. I have a small stair stepper that I use and if I turn on the TV while stepping, I can do far more steps than if the TV is off. It just takes my mind off the exercise.

Hope your weather clears soon so you can get back outside for your walks. :-)

I'd go a little crazy walking 6 miles in a basement but listening to the book was a great idea. I hope you can get out and about soon. It is supposed to be about 30 degrees warmer here by the weekend so maybe it will warm up where you live, too. Art

I love the puzzle. So good that you could get outside, at least for a while. It is such a good idea to listen to an audio book while you walk. I love your quote for the day...Joel Osteen is one of my favorites! Have a happy Wednesday!

You are certainly having a cold snowy winter. I read the book the Inn at Rose Harbor and enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy the story. I have read quite a few of her books including the Cedar Cove series which they have made into a television series.

Love the idea of audio books, I usualy have a book, but found it difficult to keep the pages turned. Haven't done a puzzle in a while, love yours! We got snow but don't have as much as you do on the ground, we didn't get as much as was predicted, so glad too!
Stay warm we will get quite cold here tonight.
